10 Best WCW Action Figures, Ranked
Marcus Reynolds In the mid-80s, WWE and LJN released their first line of action figures and forever changed the action figure game. Unknowingly, WWE and LJN would start a craze that is still going strong today. Naturally, WCW would eventually try their hand at making action figures too. Unfortunately for WCW, a majority of their attempts were horrible.

That is until 1999 when Toybiz came into the picture. While WCW was crumbling as a promotion in the late '90s and early 2000s, Toybiz was pumping out undeniably the best quality WCW action figures ever. Toybiz wasn't perfect, they had several regrettable releases, but for the most part, they're responsible for the best WCW action figures ever.
10 Toybiz Evolution Of Sting Set
Sting is arguably the greatest WCW performer ever. Furthermore, Sting had some of the most iconic looks in company history. From The Surfer to The Crow, Sting's wrestling personas were the perfect inspiration for wrestling action figures. While Galoob gave WCW fans some great-looking LJN-styled Sting figures in the early 90s, they featured zero articulation.
It wouldn't be until 1999 that fans started getting some quality Sting action figures from Toybiz. This Toybiz 'Evolution Of Sting' set is a must-own for any Sting fan and collector. It features "The Franchise" in every one of his WCW incarnations and even comes with some soft goods accessories.
9 Toybiz Tattoos N T-Shirts Jeff Jarrett
In the mid-90s, Jeff Jarrett hit the global stage when he debuted for WWE. When Jarrett didn't find the success he'd hoped for in WWE, he made the move to WCW. When that didn't work out, he'd go back to WWE. Finally, in 1999, Jarrett would return to WCW one final time. This time, he'd find all the success he was yearning for. Albeit in a dying promotion.
As one of WCW's top stars, it only made sense for Jarrett to be transformed into action figure form. While Toybiz had a couple of excellent Jarrett figures, this Tattoos N T-Shirts Jarrett is perhaps their best effort. The figure came with a breakaway guitar and even came with a soft goods shirt. It's arguably the best Jarrett figure ever considering that WWE has yet to release an updated one, though one is rumored to be in the works.
8 Toybiz Ring Fighters Bret Hart
In the mid-90s, Bret Hart took the WWE torch from Hulk Hogan and was the undeniable leader of WWE's New Generation. Shockingly though, just a few short years later in 1997, Hart would be cast out of WWE and make his way to WCW. To say that Hart's WCW career was a disaster would be an understatement.
One of the few things that WCW got right during Hart's underwhelming tenure was the action figures Toybiz produced. This Ring Fighters Bret Hart figure is easily the best Bret Hart figure produced in the '90s. It had a decent likeness and more articulation than any other Hart figure of its time.
7 Toybiz Smash N Slam "Macho Man" Randy Savage
"Macho Man" Randy Savage was one of WWE's brightest shining stars during the '80s and early '90s. In late 1992 though, Vince McMahon decided to go with a youth movement. This meant phasing out established stars in favor of up-and-coming stars like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. This prompted Savage to eventually jump to WCW.
While in WCW, Savage had an abundance of action figures produced. Most of them were subpar until Toybiz came into the picture. One of the best Toybiz figures ever is this Smash N Slam Randy Savage. It featured the best articulation of any Savage figure up to that point. It also came in either black and white or red and black to fit in with whichever nWo collection he was added to.
6 Toybiz Ring Fighters Booker T
Booker T's contributions to WCW can never be understated. Booker is arguably the second greatest homegrown talent that WCW ever produced. When WCW took a turn for the worse in the late '90s and early 2000s, it was Booker who they turned to as the company's flag bearer.

As one of the promotion's top stars, logic would indicate that Booker would be one of the more reoccurring action figure releases. Surprisingly that wasn't the case. Booker only had 15 total action figures produced while with WCW. Out of those 15 figures, this Ring Masters Booker T was easily the best. The likeness to Booker is spot on considering the technology available at the time. It came in either white or black tights which was a nice bonus.
5 Toybiz Tattoos N T-Shirts Scott Steiner
The tail end of WCW was pretty cringe-worthy in terms of the creative direction. Despite that though, there were still a few bright spots in the promotion's final days. One of those bright spots was "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner. Steiner had been a WCW stalwart for years as a tag team competitor but ventured out on his own in the late '90s, eventually becoming one of WCW's top main event stars.
As many wrestling figure collectors know, there is a huge market void for great Scott Steiner figures. Only a few great Steiner figures have been produced over the years. This Tattoos N T-Shirts Steiner is among them. Aside from the great likeness to "Big Poppa Pump," this figure came with a soft good "Big Poppa Pump" t-shirt. The t-shirt alone made this figure a winner.
4 Toybiz Powerslam Dennis Rodman
Pro wrestling has seen its fair share of celebrities come through the business over the years. Perhaps the greatest celebrity to ever cross over into pro wrestling though was NBA Superstar, Dennis Rodman. Rodman had some high-profile appearances in WCW during the late '90s.
With that in mind, it's only fair that "Rodzilla" got his own WCW action figure. This Powerslam Dennis Rodman figure came jam-packed with accessories including a soft goods jacket and a pink hat. There were also variants of this figure that came with green hair instead of orange. This figure was vastly superior to OSFTM's previous Rodman attempt from 1997.
3 Toybiz Tattoos N T-Shirts Vampiro
The saddest part of WCW's demise in 2001 was that there was a lot of potential in the promotion had it just been run properly. One of the performers with tons of untapped potential was Vampiro. Vampiro arrived in WCW full-time in 1999 but was grossly underutilized by the promotion. He had a marquee feud with Sting but not much before or after.

What made Vampiro so appealing was his appearance. At the time, Vampiro was unlike anything else in the business. His uniqueness made him a great candidate for an action figure. This Tattoos N T-Shirts Vampiro is arguably the best Vampiro figure ever. Not only did it come with a great soft goods t-shirt, but it also had soft goods hair to mimic Vampiro's dreads.
2 Toybiz Ring Masters Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho spent most of the '90s fighting an uphill battle for respect in the wrestling business. Jericho was always an excellent performer but politics and his smaller stature always seemed to prevent him from achieving his full potential, especially in WCW. In WCW, Jericho was viewed by management as a good worker but not a main event star.
This notion is backed up by the fact that during his time in WCW, Jericho only had two total action figures released. One of those figures was this incredible Ring Masters Jericho figure. It featured Jericho in his "Lion Heart" gear and came with cool accessories, including a lion to tame. It's interesting to wonder how many more Jericho figures would've been produced had he stayed with WCW.
1 Toybiz Main Event Wrestlers Hulk Hogan Ric Flair 2-Pack
Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair are among the biggest names to ever come out of the wrestling business. They're beloved by fans across the globe. As a result, there have been more Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair action figures produced than can even be counted. They're both still being turned into popular action figures even today.
This Main Event Wrestlers Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair 2-Pack is one of the better WCW releases ever. It featured Flair with his seldom seen in WCW blue trunks. It also featured one of the few Toybiz Hulk Hogans to come with trunks on instead of long tights. As always with Toybiz, the articulation of these figures trumped every other figure of the time.
