RVD spent a large portion of his WWE career in the mid-card scene, and he has six Intercontinental Championships to his name. However, fans desperately wanted to see RVD becoming a World Champion in WWE, and he achieved that when he beat John Cena for the WWE Championship at ECW One Night Stand 2006.

A lot of wrestling fans fondly remember RVD and Eddie Guerrero's ladder match over the Intercontinental Championship, and his victory in the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 22. However, there are some other matches that RVD competed in which wrestling fans have forgotten about.
10 Rob Van Dam Vs. Randy Orton - ECW One Night Stand 2007
One of Rob Van Dam's final major feuds saw him collide with Randy Orton in 2007. The former World Champions went head-to-head at ECW One Night Stand in a stretcher match. RVD and Orton have faced off in several encounters, but this one is often forgotten about.
Leading up to this bout, RVD sustained a legitimate concussion at the hands of the Legend Killer. Orton was in cruise control and was closing in on a victory but RVD kicked Orton in the head and picked up the win. Although, Orton got the last laugh as he viciously assaulted RVD after the match.
9 Rob Van Dam Vs. Chris Jericho - Raw (7/15/13)
Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho's chemistry together is outstanding, and they had memorable clashes over the Hardcore and Intercontinental Championship in the past. The two old foes were once again at loggerheads on the July 15, 2013 edition of Raw.
This was a hard-fought battle and the pendulum swung. Both gave it their all in a high-level match. Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho and RVD managed to reach the ropes. Ultimately, RVD sealed the win with his patented Five-Star Frog Splash.
8 Rob Van Dam Vs. Alberto Del Rio - Night Of Champions 2013
Night of Champions 2013 saw Rob Van Dam challenge, Alberto Del Rio, for the World Heavyweight Championship. This bout took place in the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, and RVD had the hometown support being a native of Michigan.
Surprisingly, Ricardo Rodriguez, who was the former ring announcer of Del Rio was in RVD's corner. Their match was decent but RVD failed to take home the Big Gold Belt as the Mexican Aristocrat got himself intentionally disqualified.
7 Rob Van Dam & Rey Mysterio Vs. Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree - Armageddon 2004
Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio captured the WWE Tag Team Championship from Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree on the SmackDown before Armageddon 2004 which seemed strange. Nevertheless, Suzuki and Dupree were looking to regain their titles at the pay-per-view. Their feud was short-lived, but both teams had decent chemistry together.

RVD and Mysterio worked as a cohesive unit, and they upped the pace in the match. Suzuki and Dupree did everything in their power to regain the titles but it wasn't enough. RVD executed the Five-Star Frog Splash on Dupree en route to retaining the WWE Tag Team Championship.
6 Rob Van Dam Vs. The Undertaker - Raw (5/20/02)
Rob Van Dam was presented with an opportunity of a lifetime on the May 20, 2002 episode of Raw, when he challenged The Undertaker for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The Deadman was a heel at this point, and fans desperately wanted to see RVD clinch the gold.
Undertaker was in store for a long night as RVD had the upper hand. The arena erupted when RVD "won" the title but Ric Flair reversed the decision as Taker's foot was on the rope. It was a taster of things to come, and Van Dam had to wait four years to win the WWE Championship after that moment.
5 Rob Van Dam Vs. Chief Morley - Raw (4/7/03)
Another forgotten match in Rob Van Dam's archive of matches was on the April 7, 2003, episode of Raw against Chief Morley. RVD was one-half of the reigning World Tag Team Champions, and he dominated Morley with ease.
RVD was close to beating Morley with a Rolling Thunder but Morley's tag team partner Lance Storm got involved in proceedings. Storm repeatedly interfered, and a stiff DDT from Morley saw RVD on the losing side of the bout, all thanks to Storm.
4 Rob Van Dam Vs. Ric Flair - No Mercy 2002
Ric Flair cost Rob Van Dam a chance at winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H at Unforgiven 2002, and RVD was out for revenge a month later at No Mercy. RVD gained the upper hand in the early exchanges, and the Nature Boy retreated to the outside to catch his breath.

Flair regrouped, and he cinched in the Figure Four Leglock. Moreover, RVD came close to finishing off Flair with Rolling Thunder but Naitch kicked out. This is a forgotten battle, and Van Dam earned a marquee win over Flair with the Five-Star Frog Splash.
3 Battle Royal - Raw (8/12/13)
Rob Van Dam had competed in a plethora of gimmick matches in his WWE career, and he was involved in a Battle Royal on the August 12, 2013 edition of Raw, where the winner would face Dean Ambrose for the United States Championship on the SummerSlam kickoff show.
RVD was one of the standout performers of the bout, and the US Title was missing from his impressive resume. He had a chance to put that right as he lastly eliminated Ryback and Mark Henry to become the number one contender for the United States Championship.
2 Rob Van Dam, Rey Mysterio & Hardcore Holly Vs. The Dudleys - SmackDown (9/9/04)
Rob Van Dam sustained a bloody nose in a six-man tag team match on the September 9, 2004 edition of SmackDown. RVD teamed up with Rey Mysterio and Hardcore Holly. They collided with the Dudleys' led by Cruiserweight Champion Spike Dudley and his brothers Bubba Ray and D-Von.
The Dudleys isolated RVD in their corner for a short while. However, RVD removed Bubba from the equation with a Five-Star Frog Splash and he hauled himself on D-Von onto the outside. Hardcore Holly executed the Alabama Slam on Spike, and Mysterio connected with a leg drop for the win.
1 Rob Van Dam Vs. Bad News Barrett - Payback 2014
Unquestionably, Rob Van Dam is one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions in WWE history. RVD was seeking a seventh Intercontinental Championship run when he squared off with Bad News Barrett for the title at Payback 2014.
This bout is never spoken about, but there was definitely room for improvement. Both competitors missed their respective finishers. RVD's downfall was going for the Split-Legged Moonsault as Barrett put his knees up, and he connected with his trademark Bull Hammer Elbow which was enough for him to remain as Intercontinental Champion.
