9 Booker T and Sharmell vs The Boogeyman (WrestleMania 22)
The real life friendship between Booker T and The Boogeyman played a huge role in the latter getting hired. Booker entered a program with Boogeyman ahead of WrestleMania 22 wanting to make the relatively new character look great.
The match of Booker T teaming up with his wife Sharmell to face Boogeyman felt like an extended Smackdown segment. Boogeyman scored the win and used his worms as a prop to get an ovation at the end. WWE went the comedic route with a match that should have missed the cut to make the card.
8 Fandango vs Chris Jericho (WrestleMania 29)

7 John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs Dolph Ziggler, Michelle McCool and Layla (WrestleMania 27)
The use of celebrities has been a fixture for WrestleMania from the original concept. However, the booking of Snooki from the Jersey Shore reality show proved that WWE would go after lower-tier celebrities if holding short-term relevance.
Snooki was a fad at the time with the popular show still having some relevance. The match of Snooki teaming with Trish Stratus coming out of retirement and John Morrison against Dolph Ziggler, Layla, and Michelle McCool ended with the faces winning. Morrison refusing to hug Stratus afterward gained him backstage heat to make the match even stranger.
6 Big Show vs Akebono (WrestleMania 21)

WrestleMania 26 saw Hart defeating Vince in a glorified beat down. Bret destroyed his former boss with a steel chair in an extended segment that gave him revenge from the Montreal Screwjob. WWE booking this match was strange and the execution was even more peculiar given how Vince tried to get the Hart Family to turn on Bret. One fun element to this was both Hart and Shawn Michaels retiring on the same night.
3 Braun Strowman and Nicholas vs The Bar (WrestleMania 34)
WWE hyped up the mystery partner of Braun Strowman heading into his WrestleMania 34 match against Cesaro and Sheamus. Both members of The Bar felt safe with Strowman not having any friends looking to team with him.

Nicholas trending on social media and receiving a great pop led to successful results for WWE even if it was his only match to date.
2 Hulk Hogan vs Yokozuna (WrestleMania 9)
WrestleMania 9 was meant to be the first time in five years where Hulk Hogan didn’t get the main event spot. Yokozuna defeated Bret Hart to win the WWE Championship to continue his dominant push after winning the Royal Rumble match.
Hogan made his way to the ringside area after his tag match earlier in the event. The referee allowed Hogan to challenge the new champion and win the title to close the show. Hogan’s influence and star power allowed him to take over WrestleMania at the last minute at the expense of two other wrestlers.
1 The Rock vs Erick Rowan (WrestleMania 32)
This was The Rock’s most recent match against the most unlikely of opponents at WrestleMania 32. Fans loved the surprise of Rock appearing at the historic event before getting interrupted by the Wyatt Family looking to confront him.
