Bret Hart is often seen as the best wrestler of all time in many people's opinion, as few people could ever come close to what he was capable of inside the squared circle. From a technical standpoint, the Hitman was truly ahead of his time and that allowed him to be pushed heavily as he had the personality to back it up.

Hart was then able to achieve a lot in the industry because of that, from winning titles to headlining some of the biggest shows of all time. Hart has accomplished tons, but even he has had things that he simply hasn't been able to accomplish throughout his legendary career.

10 Wrestle Rey Mysterio

When it comes to beloved wrestling icons there are few greater examples than Bret Hart and Rey Mysterio. They're two of the best wrestlers of all time and while they wrestle in vastly different styles, they have always created magic inside the ring regardless of who they've faced.

However, Mysterio and Hart never actually competed against each other. Despite their years in the business the two men have never had a match against each other, with the only time they've shared the ring being a six-man tag where they were on the same team.

9 Defeat The Rock

Bret Hart did get to tangle with The Rock during his time in the business, but even though the Hitman was the bigger name at the time it was actually The Rock who got the win. The two men only ever had one singles match though, meaning Hart never beat him.

To make it even more surprising, that took place during his run as Rocky Maivia, long before he had truly established himself as a top act in the wrestling industry.

8 Defeat Ricky Steamboat

Another legend from the wrestling industry that Bret Hart was never able to defeat is Ricky Steamboat, which is arguably more surprising than the fact he didn't defeat The Rock because they were around at the same time in their primes.

Steamboat and Hart only ever had two live event matches which is surprising, but they also got the chance to compete against each other in several tag team encounters as well. No matter what setting it was though, it would be Steamboat who always ended up with his arm raised.

7 Sign With AEW

There have been many different legends who have ended up working for AEW that competed during Bret Hart's era such as Jake Roberts, Arn Anderson, and Sting. Tony Khan likes working with these types of wrestlers to honor them in the right way, and Owen Hart's legacy is now being continued by the company.

The Hitman was part of the company early on, but it was only a one-off appearance that led to him unveiling the AEW World Championship. Fans felt that might lead to him signing for the company, but that hasn't ended up happening to this stage because of his deal with WWE.

6 Win The Hardcore Championship

Bret Hart managed to get his hands on countless titles throughout his time in the wrestling industry which is why he is incredibly decorated as a performer. However, one title he never got his hands on was the Hardcore Championship, which did prove to be a popular title during its run.

Hart had a completely different style to the hardcore one and that is why putting the title on him could have been a lot of fun to see. It would've taken the Hitman out of his comfort zone which would have been entertaining to see.

The Hell In A Cell match is one of the most iconic stipulations in wrestling history, and it is something that works as the perfect backdrop for any great rivalry. It's something that Bret Hart could've worked well in because great Hell In A Cell matches are all about stories that the wrestlers can tell.

Few do better jobs of that than Hart, and seeing him work with this stipulation would have been brilliant to see as he would've come up with some creative ways to use the structure as a weapon.

4 Work For TNA

There was a time when TNA would bring in a lot of former WWE Superstars whether they were still able to compete at a high level or not. However, one name that was never brought in was Bret Hart, even though he would've brought a lot of attention to the company at that time.

When TNA was in that period, Hart actually ended up making his return to WWE to provide competition to what TNA was doing, proving that he was still a draw even at that stage of his career.

3 Win A Title For NJPW

Bret Hart got the opportunity to compete in New Japan Pro-Wrestling many times over the years, wowing audiences all around the world with his in-ring talent. However, even though he proved himself to be a good draw for the company and an entertaining wrestler, he never had a title run.

The Hitman did get to compete in several title matches, but he was never able to get over the line to actually win one. He'd have been a great champion for the company considering his in-ring style, but it's something he didn't accomplish.

2 Win The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship

Bret Hart has held several different World Heavyweight titles throughout his career, but one of the most iconic belts is the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, which he never won. Considering the legends who have achieved this, Hart's name would not have been out of place on that list.

He would have done a great job touring around the world with this title putting on classic matches to help grow the brand at the same time. Unfortunately, that opportunity never ended up happening despite the fact he did wrestle for the company.

Winning the Royal Rumble is a huge deal for any professional wrestler and it is something that many legends have achieved over the years. It is something that Hart has technically experienced, because in 1994 he was able to win the Rumble, but it was an honor that he technically shared.

Both he and Lex Luger ended up winning the match, which means that, while Hart can claim he has won the Rumble, it's not something he achieved outright on his own like most others.
