10 Wrestling Theme Songs That Got A Remix
Emma Horne So many veterans will tell you that a good percentage of getting over involves how you enter and exit the ring. When a wrestler walks that aisle that’s the time when the camera is solely on them. Just think of how many times you’ve watched or you yourself have mimicked your favorite superstars’ entrances.

But a WWE superstar also has to keep their gimmick fresh and new. Every so often, when a character changes something about their appearance, whether its new tights or they’ve switched from heel to babyface, their theme song usually gets a few minor tweaks as well. Some of those remixes are just as iconic as the original themes too.
8 Liv Morgan - Watch Me
While Liv Morgan hasn’t made much in the way progress of knocking Big Time Becks down a peg or two, she has gotten herself a bit of a new take on her old theme song. Both versions, “Nah Nah” and the new version “Watch Me” start out with the Jersey girl giggling a la Trish Stratus.
But the new theme for 2022 has a little more pep in its step as opposed to the former’s attempt to convey some sort of sultriness that wasn’t there.
7 Bret Hart - Return The Hitman
It had been over a decade since fans got to hear the blaring electrical cord that signified Bret Hart was coming to the ring. To help celebrate the occasion of snowfall in Hades, Jim Johnston crafted a new take on the old Pink And Black theme.

“Return The Hitman” is an updated take on the legend that moves a little faster, has a little more chords, and sounds slightly more epic than the late nineties version.
6 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin - Alliance Theme / Venom
When the glass shatters and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin stomps out to what he referred to as his “BMF walk,” every fan knew mudholes were getting stomped and walked dry. Then our favorite working class hero betrayed us all, siding with the Alliance to lead their charge against WWE. He became a paranoid, crazed individual willing to use every underhanded trick in the book.
This new take on Austin was met with an even more frenetic take on the Rage Against The Machine-inspired theme song, with an added “Psycho-shower scene” type of interlude to raise the stakes and mood of whatever match Austin was heading into.
5 Jake 'The Snake' Roberts - Trust Me
For years, “Snakebit” rang throughout arenas, immediately signaling the arrival of Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Damien. The theme was so big that it even played over an old Hulk Hogan workout montage. But after turning on The Ultimate Warrior and unleashing a King Cobra on the Macho Man, there was no way the WWE Universe was going to trust the Snake ever again, despite his remixed theme asking us to do so.
The new heel version slowed down the energy of his original and was as scary as Jake was - you knew something dangerous was going to happen to someone very soon.
4 Kurt Angle - Wrestling Machine
One of the reasons that Kurt Angle worked so well as a goofball heel is because when he got in the ring, everyone knew he was a trained shooter that could destroy any opponent.

For years, Kurt’s original theme “Medal,” was met with cheers (or jeers) of “You Suck” from the WWE Universe. When Vince wanted Kurt to go to ECW and become The Wrestling Machine, that part of the theme was taken out and the intro and hook had a harder edge when compared to the original.
3 Big Show - Crank It Up (ECW)
Similar to Kurt Angle’s ECW theme, there wasn’t much difference to The Big Show’s “Crank It Up” theme song. But an extra guitar chord here, and an extra bass drum there, and you have a new enough take on a similar theme to signify that not only is The Big Show with ECW now, but he’s also back to being a monster nobody wants to cross.
It worked.
2 Mankind - Ode To Freud Remix
Mick Foley had a gem of an idea when Mankind first debuted, and Vince McMahon was all for it. The deranged Mankind would come out to an eerie piece of music, and after he inflicted copious amounts of harm in an opponent, he’d leave to a serene piece of classical music. The Ode To Freud was Mankind’s entrance theme.

But after Foley’s interview with Jim Ross, there was no stopping Mankind from becoming a babyface who was surprised at the fact that people were starting to love him. His new take on Freud maintained the same beat, but had a more pop inspired riff to showcase a kinder, gentler version of Mankind.
1 Run DMC - We The Kings
Over the years, plenty of great bands (and even some up and comers) got their chance to play with Jim Johnston’s catalog of classic themes. They would remix and re-imagine the theme songs into brands new themes for superstars. There is no group that can remix a song like Run-DMC.
The hip hop legends gave their take on the DX theme that Chris Warren and Jim Johnston had concocted. The result was “We The Kings,” which served as the faction's theme when they were Corporation heels.
