Brock Lesnar has been one of the biggest names in professional wrestling since his arrival in the WWE. With being so prominent in the industry, Lesnar has been exposed to millions of people and that audience has tried to learn more about the man behind the character. One of the things that comes with being a big celebrity is a lot of stories that might not have a hint of truth to them such as his relationship with the fans or co-workers. Brock Lesnar has come out and talked a small bit about himself but tends to keep his private life, private. With all these stories that come out, here are a few more things that fans typically get mistaken about with the Beast Incarnate.
13 Doesn't Have Passion For Wrestling
The most common complaint about Brock Lesnar by fans and even some peers is that he doesn’t have a strong passion for the wrestling business. Lesnar leaving early during his first run and having a part-time schedule has rubbed others the wrong way.

However, Brock recently dispelled that rumor during an interview revealing that he has a lot of passion and enjoys doing it. The biggest difference is that Lesnar hates to travel and demands the biggest pay since he has the same leverage most would use.
12 Weak Promo Skills
Brock Lesnar having Paul Heyman as his manager allowed him to get away with being the silent kind of character. Fans started viewing Brock as being a weak talker since he couldn’t cut good ones on his own during the first run in the Ruthless Aggression Era.
Recent years have shown Lesnar is a great promo when he gets to speak with a more natural style. Heyman betraying Brock for Roman Reigns added a new chapter to Lesnar’s career moving forward. WWE has benefited from Brock getting to show more creativity with great talking segments.
11 He's A Lazy Worker
There have been many stories over Lesnar's career detailing how he didn't want to work with one person or another and shot down any potential ideas for a good match. While that does seem to happen, it isn't always the case.
Lesnar is an amazing worker when he is motivated and matches with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in the last few years have really shown that off. Plus in these last few matches, he has really tried to make someone like Cody Rhodes seem like a massive deal and helped put them over.
10 Seems Like A Jerk
As mentioned earlier this idea couldn't be farther from the truth. Lesnar has helped many names be better at wrestling such as helping push Cody Rhodes or even giving advice to his co-workers backstage. Lesnar has also used his star power to rub off on other names just by interacting with them in the ring.
Outside his career, Lesnar is a father and husband who seems to have a healthy relationship with his family. Brock has shown his kinder side with fans as well and fulfilled a few Make-a-Wish opportunities for the young kids who look up to him.
9 Reasons For Retiring
There was a lot of criticism towards Brock Lesnar for leaving WWE after two years. WWE pushed Brock harder than most with a main event spot for his entire run. The anger towards Lesnar leaving made him seem selfish for leaving after getting what everyone dreams of due to having a huge ego.
However, not everyone could handle the intense WWE schedule that much worse back then with four to five shows every week. Brock retired to avoid traveling and wanted to chase another dream of trying out for the NFL.
8 Championship History
Brock Lesnar is considered one of the most decorated WWE champions for all the World Championship reigns. Most wrestlers viewed as decorated champs tend to be grand slam champions or hold titles all over the card.
However, it is overlooked that Lesnar has never won a WWE belt outside the world title picture. Brock is a seven-time WWE Champion and two-time Universal Champion. WWE always pushed him above the mid-card and tag title pictures to avoid ever winning those belts.
7 Has No Friends In Wrestling
The anti-social nature of Brock Lesnar makes it easy to believe he has no friends. Lesnar lives off the grid and travels on private flights to avoid being around others. However, that doesn’t mean that he didn’t make any friends in WWE along the way.
Kurt Angle was close to Brock for years and even had him considering a TNA deal. Goldberg only returned to WWE vs. Lesnar due to Brock using his status to pitch his friend joining. Even Vince McMahon became a close friend of Lesnar when Brock was seen at his birthday party in New York City.
6 Takes Himself Too Seriously
Many fans tend to see Brock Lesnar as someone who tries too hard to be cool and takes themselves too seriously in a sport like professional wrestling. Recent years have shown that to be not true with Brock Lesnar doing some crazier things in his career such as his run with the Money in the Bank briefcase and destroying the ring at SummerSlam against Roman Reigns.
Even before now Lesnar still did some sillier things for the crowd like his feud with Eddie Guerrero and bringing out a mariachi band. Lesnar also has started appearing on random YouTube videos with people where he shows his true self and the funnier parts of him.
5 Ending The Streak Was A Mistake
Many fans hated Brock Lesnar due to the scripted moment of him ending The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak. Even Undertaker has said that he didn’t feel Lesnar needed the win since he was already a top star and wanted to put over Roman Reigns instead.

However, the WWE start to Brock’s return was flawed and required a game changer. Lesnar lost his first match back to John Cena, had a weak feud with Triple H for half a year, and entered a pointless program with Big Show before this moment. WWE giving Brock the historic win made him feel way more credible.
4 Jumped The Shark During His First Run
The end of Brock Lesnar’s first WWE run was a disappointment due to how abrupt it was and how horrible the final match against Goldberg was. Fans viewed the scenario as Lesnar having a weak end to his reign that lingered over a few months.
Brock delivered one of his best performances in his second to last PPV of that stint when putting over Eddie Guerrero. WWE continued to see Lesnar as an effective top heel until that final match with Goldberg.
3 Better In Short Matches
Brock Lesnar has become known for thriving in squash matches more than the average wrestler. Unfortunately, that has led to some fans thinking that he’s weaker in long matches and is protected with shorter sprints or general squash matches.
The classic between Lesnar and CM Punk at SummerSlam 2013 lasted over 25 minutes in arguably his best match since the 2012 return. Lesnar’s first stint saw him having the most critically successful Iron Man match against Kurt Angle proving he could thrive for a full hour.
2 Not A Good Seller
The protection of Brock Lesnar in the booking makes it a rarer case for him to look weak in any way. Fans will often complain that Brock doesn’t sell effectively for his opponents due to the moments where he destroyed fan favorites like Kofi Kingston and Ricochet.
However, there have been plenty of instances that show Lesnar is a tremendous seller. The matches against smaller wrestlers like AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan saw him perfectly selling a targeted body part. Even recent work with Omos featured Brock doing his best to make the giant look credible on the build.
1 Paul Heyman Saved His WWE Career
There is no debating how much Paul Heyman helped Brock Lesnar become a star, but their work relationship worked both ways. WWE fans often cite Lesnar as not feeling like a huge success story during his 2012 return until Heyman joined him.
Even though Heyman certainly added to Brock’s act, it was the leverage of Lesnar to even get Heyman back on the roster. Vince McMahon had a falling out with Heyman after his final night running WWE's ECW brand. Heyman coming back gave him a tremendous run that truly created the talk of him being the best manager of all time.
