9 Embarrassing Times Wrestlers Lost To Non-Wrestlers

Whenever a non-wrestler is brought into the company to be part of a show, a feud, or just to have a one-off match it can always be a mixed reception. Some have legitimate sporting backgrounds and get taken seriously, while others are playing characters and being far more comedic.

Because of that, when they step into the ring to compete with a WWE Superstar, if they end up being victorious it can be an embarrassing situation for the talent. Of course, there are times when it is built up well enough to be believable, but there are others when that's not as much the case, and it's a loss the wrestler in question would rather forget about.

9 Snooki (WrestleMania 27)

Snooki competing inside the ring was something that fans didn't take too seriously considering the fact she was a reality television star, and someone that was far smaller than everyone she shared the ring with. Despite that, at WrestleMania 27 she was able to pick up a victory in a six-person tag team match.

Snooki teamed with John Morrison and Trish Stratus as they defeated LayCool and Dolph Ziggler, in what was no doubt an embarrassing loss for the trio of heels, simply because Snooki wasn't someone who looked comfortable inside the ring.

8 Nicholas (WrestleMania 34)

The Bar suffered major embarrassment at WrestleMania 34 when they defended their Raw Tag Team Championships against Braun Strowman and a mystery partner. That vacant role ended up being filled by Nicholas, who was a child in the audience that was given a chance to compete.

He was obviously a plant, being the son of a WWE official, but the match was essentially a handicap, with Nicholas not doing much physically. Despite that, Sheamus and Cesaro were still beaten, which was an embarrassing situation for them with Nicholas lifting their titles.

7 John Laurinaitis (Over The Limit, 2012)

While John Laurinaitis is a former professional wrestler, and someone who is credited for creating the cutter that other wrestlers such as Randy Orton have made iconic, when he wrestled at Over The Limit, 2012 those days were behind him. Instead, Laurinaitis was an office man backstage, although he was working as the General Manager then.

He competed in a PPV main event match against John Cena, and despite the obvious star power of his opponent, it was the man of people power who picked up the victory thanks to a helping hand from The Big Show.

6 Michael Cole (WrestleMania 27)

Heading into WrestleMania 27 Michael Cole had his fingerprints all over the WWE product due to him being pushed as a top heel at the time. He was constantly on the microphone giving out the Anonymous GM's orders, and it eventually led to a WrestleMania match against Jerry Lawler.

While Lawler was past his prime at this stage in his career, he is still a legend of the wrestling business and a Hall Of Famer. Considering it was his only ever WrestleMania match, people expected the King to get the win, but instead, he was handed an embarrassing defeat.

5 Jim Ross (Raw, 4/18/05)

Triple H is one of the all-time greats in professional wrestling, and someone who has dominated the main event scene for the majority of his career. Despite that, he has had some surprising defeats across his tenure with WWE, and one of those just so happened to be against Jim Ross.

The former WWE commentator has competed in a few matches over the years, but he certainly isn't a trained wrestler, and seeing him beat World Champions is a shock. He had assistance in this from Batista, but that doesn't stop it from being embarrassing for the Game.

4 Vince McMahon (WrestleMania 38 - Night Two)

While Pat McAfee is not a professional wrestler himself, he is a former NFL athlete and somebody who has proven himself inside the ring throughout his experience wrestling. Because of that, being beaten by Vince McMahon was an embarrassing moment for him at WrestleMania 38.

Even though he had already competed, losing to McMahon wasn't a good moment for him overall, particularly in the manner it happened. The former WWE Chairman did not look convincing in this, and kicking a football into McAfee was an embarrassing way for him to lose the match as it didn't look great.

3 David Arquette (WCW Thunder, 4/25/00)

The lineage of the World Heavyweight Championship is an important one that is mainly filled up with legends and iconic names, but that also includes Hollywood actor David Arquette. During an episode of Thunder he ended up teaming with DDP in order to take on Eric Bischoff and Jeff Jarrett, with the World Title on the line.

Out of everybody to get score the pinfall, Arquette was the least likely, yet he was able to achieve that and win the title in the process, which is something nobody could believe, and was an embarrassing moment for Jeff Jarrett.

2 Akebono (WrestleMania 21)

The Big Show wasn't in action against Akebono in a traditional wrestling match, with this one being sumo contest that played into his opponents hands. While that made it slightly better for the WWE giant, the entire situation was set up to embarrass him, with the result being the tip of the iceberg.

It was clearly a situation that wasn't ideal for him in how he would have wanted to be booked, but Big Show was always a team player and he managed to take it in stride.

1 Kevin Federline (Raw, 1/1/07)

The most embarrassing loss that a wrestler has suffered against a non-wrestler is when John Cena was beaten by Kevin Federline, who is best known for being married to Britney Spears. At the time, the two of them were going through a divorce, and he was a hot topic amongst the public, which is why he was brought in.

But few people expected him to defeat Cena considering he was one of the top stars in the business at that point. While celebrities often get the victory, this was an occasion where it wasn't expected, yet Federline was able to make it happen with the help of both Johnny Nitro and Umaga.
