Emma Horne Professional Background
I have worked collaboratively with KUMC research teams in project development, database design, data monitoring, data management, and statistical analyses for a variety of multisite randomized controlled trials. I successfully helped implement large, multisite trials, many funded by PCORI (Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute), and applied a variety of statistical methods including Bayesian adaptive designs for comparative effectiveness research (PAIN-CONTRoLS, CER-1306-02496), a phase III trial (ADORE, 1R01HD083292), as well as a cluster randomized trial for weight loss (REPOWER, OB-1402-09413). Along with colleagues in the KUMC Department of Biostatistics andamp; Data Science, I have formed trusted relationships with many PIs and research teams. Some of my time has also included expanding my research to statistics education, where I developed and instruct statistics-related courses to graduate students. This teaching experience has augmented my ability to discuss and communicate key statistical and methodological concepts to those whose background is not in statistics or data management. I work with and provide statistical expertise for many graduate student research projects. .
