Cora Jade Turns Heel, Attacks Roxanne Perez On NXT
Emma Horne WWE is continuing their longstanding tradition of breaking up tag teams before they're able to even get off the ground. Tonight was an especially egregious instance as NXT broke up the tag team of Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade just one week after the pair became NXT Women's Tag Team Champions.

Before her match, Roxanne was jumped in the infamous NXT parking lot. The culprit behind the attack was unknown up until Cora's betrayal. At that point, it became clear that Roxanne's attacker was none other than her best friend.
Cora's Heel Turn
Cora was the top babyface of the NXT women's division for the last few months, so this heel turn will be a drastic shift for her. Her look and gimmick made her a natural, AJ Lee style babyface, especially against heels like Mandy Rose. NXT fans will have to get ready to see a darker, angrier side of Cora in the coming weeks.
Roxanne took to Twitter after her title match to express her feelings toward her friend's betrayal. It's safe to say she's not holding up too well.
Logging off & crying tonight goodbye

Roxanne is one of the best signings that WWE has made within the last year. At just 20 years old, she's already an incredibly capable in-ring competitor. She and Cora are both more than capable of standing on their own as singles competitors, but their split is indicative of a larger issue within WWE.
WWE's Tag Team Problem
WWE's continuous disregard for their women's tag division is an increasingly glaring issue. It's reportedly why WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on the company.
Roxanne and Cora, a pair of real-life best friends, could've been a great shot in the arm for the tag team division. However, it seems that WWE simply doesn't see the women's tag team division as anything close to a priority.
