After getting caught on video by a fan, it became clear both Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins were annoyed by the countdown during their Iron Man Match at Extreme Rules on Sunday evening.

The main between Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins was for the Intercontinental Championship. It was a match that showcased two great in-ring workers giving the WWE Universe a contest worth talking about. Unfortunately, what will be remembered most were the chants that emanated from the live crowd that evening, counting down every last 10 seconds of every one of the 30 minutes of the match. It was something Ziggler and Rollins noticed and perhaps didn't appreciate.

Both competitors will likely admit it's great to have the fans involved, but a fan video caught the two combatants talking about the situation in the middle of their match and during a sleeper hold maneuver.

In the above video, you can hear and see Ziggler say to Rollins, "it’s worse than when the clock was up." Rollins responded, "That’s why they should have left it up”.

It is believed both wrestlers were referring to the fact WWE took the countdown clock graphic off the big screen during the match, likely to get fans to stop chanting. Unfortunately, the decision to remove the clock had the opposite affect as the live audience got louder and louder.

Is it also believed both competitors were frustrated WWE removed the one way they had of measuring how much time was left and what spots to do to take the rest of the match home.

Wrestling fans have taken to hijacking WWE events over the past couple years. Between the Royal Rumble, the post-WrestleMania Raw or certain cities where fans will chant just about anything versus watch the action if the ring, the WWE Universe has drawn criticsm for being over-involved to the point of distracting.

Whether or not Sunday's Extreme Rules' main event was another example of this or not may be up for debate. What's clear is that both Rollins and Ziggler were more than aware of what was going on around them.
