The number of known Titans in Legendary's MonsterVerse keeps growing. Here are all ones that are confirmed to exist after Godzilla vs. Kong.

An impressive number of MonsterVerse Titans still exist after Godzilla vs. Kong, and here is every known monster. Most of them are currently in hibernation, but could always come back into play at some point in a future installment, such as Godzilla 3 or Kong 2. Several of the MonsterVerse Titans introduced haven’t survived their respective movies. Aside from Kong himself, Kong: Skull Island featured two other Titans (the oversized Skullcrawler and the Mire Squid), but both lost their lives fighting the ape.

As for Godzilla, he too rid the Earth of a pair of Titans in his first MonsterVerse outing, with his victims being the male and female MUTOs. In Godzilla: King of the Monsters, two of the three Toho kaiju included in the action died in the final battle at Boston. Mothra gave up her life essence to give Godzilla a chance to win, while King Ghidorah was killed as a direct result of that sacrifice.

The MonsterVerse has lost several Titans, but that doesn’t mean it’s short on giant creatures. Godzilla vs. Kong didn’t include many monsters at all, but quite a few are still around and might be brought into the picture at any time. Here’s every known MonsterVerse Titan following the events of Godzilla vs Kong.

How Many Titans Are In Godzilla Vs Kong

Based on the ending of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, there was an expectation that Godzilla vs. Kong would feature nearly the entire catalog of MonsterVerse monsters. This was way off the mark, though, as the epic meeting of Godzilla and Kong only included those two major Titans. Kong's journey to Hollow Earth included glimpses of a few different creatures, but they aren't classified as Titans officially. Outside of those Hollow Earth monsters and one of Ghidorah's heads, Godzilla vs. Kong scaled down its creature count to keep the focus on its two main Titans. The franchise even provided an explanation for this surprising turn, as Gojira's title as the King of the Monsters allowed him to keep them all at bay as he went after Kong.

Godzilla

Godzilla became the King of the Monsters when he killed Ghidorah, but he wasn’t the undisputed alpha. At least one, Kong, didn’t regard him as the superior MonsterVerse Titan. However, Godzilla vs. Kong's ending secured Godzilla’s position by having Kong lose their final brawl. When they stared each other down after the battle with Mechagodzilla, Godzilla gave Kong a chance to challenge him again. But in dropping the ax, Kong sent a clear message to his rival; Godzilla is the undisputed alpha amongst Godzilla vs. Kong's monsters.

Kong

The debate over who would be the alpha has ended, but that doesn’t mean Kong is about to become another one of Godzilla’s minions either. Rebecca Hall’s Dr. Andrews said there couldn’t be two alphas, but the MonsterVerse solved this problem by making the land of his ancestors his new home. So while Godzilla will continue to rule the surface, Kong is now the king of the Hollow Earth.

Rodan

Rodan and King of the Monsters’ original Titans were labeled as “defeated” in Godzilla vs. Kong’s intro, but they’re still very much alive in the MonsterVerse. As revealed by KotM's credits, Rodan found a new volcano to roost in at Fiji. According to the Godzilla vs. Kong novelization, he was paid a visit by the alpha two years after KotM, but what happened between them hasn’t been discussed. Regardless, Rodan is likely still asleep in his volcano and ready to rear his head if the MonsterVerse's Titans eventually return.

The Third MUTO

The repercussions of Ghidorah’s call revealed that the two MUTOs slain by Godzilla in the 2014 film weren’t the last of their kind. Apparently, there’s at least one more that’s still out there. Referred to as the Queen of the MUTOs by King of the Monsters director Michael Dougherty, the third member of their species now answers to Godzilla and could serve as an ally to him in future movies.

Methuselah

The rock-like Titan known as Methuselah slept in plain sight for centuries by becoming a “mountain” in Munich, Germany. It wasn’t until Ghidorah’s decision to wake up the Titans that the monster finally stirred and revealed his presence. Like Rodan and the others, Methuselah briefly followed Ghidorah’s orders before eventually switching his allegiance to the new alpha. As for where he is now, the Godzilla vs. Kong novelization mentioned he’s hibernating 100 miles away from the Amazon, but exactly where the MonsterVerse monster is laying isn’t said.

Scylla

Rodan, Behemoth, Methuselah, and the third MUTO have seemingly stayed in line since Ghidorah’s fall, but one Titan, in particular, has been less obedient. Scylla, the six-legged insect Titan who joined the others in bowing down to Godzilla, rebelled against the alpha in the Godzilla vs. Kong prequel graphic novel, Godzilla: Dominion. Hungry for radiation, Scylla made trouble with the humans by going after a buried nuclear missile. When Godzilla stepped in, Scylla made a bold move by refusing to back down. After being swiftly beaten, Scylla fled the scene and smartly stayed out from joining Godzilla vs. Kong's Titan war.

Behemoth

Behemoth, a mammoth Titan, was one of the monsters that gathered around Godzilla during the finale of King of the Monsters. Following his acceptance of Godzilla, Behemoth settled in the Amazon rainforest. To the surprise of scientists, the radiation from his body fully restored the deforested regions of the area. This helped prove that Emma (Vera Farmiga) was right when she said the MonsterVerse Titans were capable of saving the world.

Amhuluk

While living peacefully in the Amazon, Behemoth was suddenly attacked by Amhuluk, a strange creature with tree-like appendages and tentacles hanging from his body. Amhuluk, a Titan whose name was spotted on a monitor screen in King of the Monsters, was apparently intent on taking over the Amazon for himself in Dominion. Based on how the fight with Behemoth was going, it looked like Amhuluk was on his way to getting what he wanted, but fortunately for Behemoth’s sake, Godzilla was in the vicinity. Though clearly one of the more malevolent of the MonsterVerse monsters, Amhuluk understood right away he wasn’t in Godzilla’s league and quickly surrendered.

Tiamat

Sometime after beating Amhuluk, Godzilla had to fight another Titan awakened by Ghidorah. Godzilla discovered that Tiamat, a powerful sea serpent who shares her name with an ocean goddess from Babylonian mythology, had begun inhabiting one of his old lairs. In contrast to Amhuluk, Tiamat put up a good fight and proved to be a force to be reckoned with. She also displayed the capability to spit a potent, acidic spray that was strong enough to temporarily blind Godzilla. She gave it her all, but it wasn’t enough. The MonsterVerse Titan took a beating from the alpha but submitted before her situation could worsen.

King of the Monsters’ Missing Titans

Not all of the monsters that answered Ghidorah’s call were shown onscreen. There were eleven that were named but not seen. Thanks to Dominion, two of these creatures – Amhuluk and Tiamat – have since been officially introduced into the MonsterVerse canon, but nine more are still missing. One, Mokele-Mbembe, was obscured by smoke on a Monarch monitor but was described in detail in the novelization as a fearsome, earless elephant with a snout like a crocodile. Another monster, Leviathan, is supposedly responsible for the Loch Ness Monster sightings. As for the other Titans that remained absent in Godzilla vs. Kong, it’s hard to say for sure what they are, but each of their names has mythological connections that could provide clues about their identities and appearances.

Na Kika

It’s never been outright confirmed just how many Titans were awakened because of what happened in King of the Monsters, but it is known that the aforementioned Titans aren’t the only ones. Among the others is Na Kika, an octopus monster Godzilla rescued from a human terrorist organization in Dominion. After obtaining his freedom, Na Kika swam to safety. Later, he and the rest of the Titans that were still awake were called back into hibernation by the winning Godzilla vs. Kong monster.

What Happened To The Titans After Godzilla vs. Kong

The future of the MonsterVerse Titans is less clear after Godzilla vs. Kong, especially due to the franchise's uncertain future. All indications point to Godzilla still being the dominant creature in the monster universe. This suggests that all of the other monsters missing from Godzilla vs. Kong could remain in hiding as long as Gojira is to be feared. It's unclear how much control over them he has, which could mean other MonsterVerse monsters might move to Hollow Earth, where Kong is now seemingly in charge. Audiences likely won't get clarity on what happened to Godzilla vs. Kong's Titans until the entire franchise moves forward.
