Mia Russell The end for WCW saw the shows becoming viewed as some of the worst in company history. 2000 was a horrific year for WCW as the final chance to save their future just saw them falling lower and lower. The project of Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff working together led to the worst of both regimes hurting the company.

Quite a few events would become synonymous with the failure of WCW and why viewers chose WWE as the top promotion. There were some positive moments like Booker T and Scott Steiner emerging as new top stars to add excitement. Without further ado, let's find out which PPVs stood out for better or worse for the final full year of World Championship Wrestling.
12 Halloween Havoc (Goldberg vs Kronik)
WCW struggled to put together a competent show for Halloween Havoc 2000. The main event of Goldberg squashing the tag team Kronik in under five minutes made little sense as the show closer.

It made more sense when realizing how bad the rest of the card was. Booker T and Scott Steiner ended their WCW Championship match with a disappointing DQ finish. Sting vs Jeff Jarrett featured various people dressed as Sting interfering to the confusion of fans in the venue.
11 SuperBrawl (Sid Vicious vs Scott Hall vs Jeff Jarrett)
The main event picture of WCW grew bleak with many names just not belonging at the top of the card. SuperBrawl 2000 showcased that with the main event of Sid Vicious vs Scott Hall vs Jeff Jarrett flopping.
The other matches with star power were just as bad. Lex Luger vs Hulk Hogan featured two wrestlers working at the slowest pace. Ric Flair and Terry Funk had a match that was embarrassing compared to their prior classics in their prime.
10 Starrcade (Scott Steiner vs Sid Vicious)
Starrcade no longer had the same value in 2000 as WCW’s biggest show of the year with the company sinking. Scott Steiner defended the WCW Championship against Sid Vicious in a match not worthy of such a spot in the past.
The one bright spot on the terrible card featured Shannon Moore and Shane Helms vs Jamie Noble and Evan Karagias vs Jimmy Yang and Kaz Hayahashi in a ladder match. All six wrestlers worked hard throughout the year despite everything working against them.
9 The Great American Bash (Jeff Jarrett vs Kevin Nash)
The main event run of Jeff Jarrett hurt WCW with fans not viewing him as a credible champion. WCW witnessed this with the main event of Jarrett vs Kevin Nash not providing any interest as The Great American Bash 1999 main event.
The most memorable match of the night featured Vampiro setting Sting on fire and tossing him off the stage in a Human Torch match. David Flair vs Ric Flair was the worst match to add more negativity to an already pessimistic card on paper.
8 Mayhem (Scott Steiner vs Booker T)
Mayhem 2000 was a mixed card for WCW with some positive moments in between the otherwise consistent disappointments. Scott Steiner winning the WCW Championship from Booker T in a Straightjacket Cage match was a big moment that worked to perfection.
The weaker matches on the card saw Goldberg vs Lex Luger and Jeff Jarrett vs Buff Bagwell reminding fans why WCW was no longer a priority. There was a fun three-team match involving members of 3 Count and the Jung Dragons to add depth.
7 Uncensored (Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair)
WCW went with Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair in the main event of Uncensored for the second year in a row in 2000. The ridiculous Yappapi Indian Strap match didn’t save the legends from having a stinker in their final big match together.
Vampiro vs Finlay and Dustin Rhodes vs Terry Funk provided some fun matches with the hard-hitting action. The other attraction matches of Sting vs Lex Luger and Sid Vicious vs Jeff Jarrett disappointed.
6 Slamboree (Jeff Jarrett vs Diamond Dallas Page vs David Arquette)
David Arquette winning the WCW Championship will always be discussed among the worst moves in company history. Slamboree 2000 was the big payoff in a triple threat triple cage match that culminated with Arquette betraying Diamond Dallas Page to help Jeff Jarrett win.

There were some bright spots on the show with Sting vs Vampiro creating some interest in the face painted wrestlers feuding. One huge disappointment was Shane Douglas and Ric Flair having a stinker after making their personal issues part of a storyline.
5 Fall Brawl (Booker T vs Kevin Nash)
The violent match between Scott Steiner and Goldberg deserved the main event spot of Fall Brawl 2000 when looking back at them stealing the show. Steiner scored a rare clean victory over Goldberg using a lead pipe to make him tap to the Steiner Recliner in the No DQ match.
Kevin Nash and Booker T unfortunately had a weak main event for the WCW Championship that couldn’t follow Goldberg and Steiner. The Cruiserweight Division match of Elix Skipper vs Kwee Wee provided a rare fun undercard match for WCW in 2000.
4 Souled Out (Chris Benoit vs Sid Vicious)
WCW tried to make a new star and rebuild the product at Souled Out 2000 when Chris Benoit defeated Sid Vicious for the vacated WCW Championship. The decision of Benoit to leave for WWE the next day made the win pointless, but it was still one of the better WCW main events of 2000.
Kevin Nash and Terry Funk had a solid match earlier in the card when feuding over the role of Commissioner of WCW. Another positive saw The Wall defeating Billy Kidman in a match that made him gain momentum for a short time.
3 New Blood Rising (Booker T vs Jeff Jarrett)
New Blood Rising was a PPV that only took place in 2000 and was meant to replace Road Wild as the August show. Booker T defended the WCW Championship against Jeff Jarrett in a good match to keep his momentum strong.
The show had one of the best WCW matches of all time earlier in the night with 3 Count and the Jung Dragons facing off in a ladder match. There was a polarizing Canadian Rules match between Mike Awesome and Lance Storm that provided entertainment for those who didn’t think it was embarrassing to bend the rules that much.
2 Spring Stampede (Jeff Jarrett vs Diamond Dallas Page)
WCW completely reset the product in 2000 when Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo vacated all titles to start the New Blood era. Spring Stampede was the PPV where all new champions would be crowned. Jeff Jarrett defeated Diamond Dallas Page for the WCW Championship in a solid match.
The unpredictability of the show with such a unique concept of resetting a product made it exciting. Sting had a strong night with solid matches against Booker T, Vampiro, and Scott Steiner, all in the United States Championship tournament.
1 Bash at the Beach (Booker T vs Jeff Jarrett)
Bash at the Beach 2000 is remembered as one of the most infamous WCW shows of all time for better or worse. Vince Russo’s shoot promo running down Hulk Hogan after Jeff Jarrett laid down for him was fascinating at the time.
The show ended in the best way possible with Booker T getting an unexpected WCW Championship victory against Jarrett to claim the belt for the first time. There were many terrible things on the show, but this iconic moment made it better than most other PPVs that year. Booker had another impressive match with Chris Kanyon earlier on the show to provide depth.
