Former professional American football player Goldberg has put together a special wrestling career that landed him in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Goldberg became a can't-miss money and main event draw for WCW in the late '90s — during the "Monday Night Wars" with WWE — thanks to the historic dominance and undefeated streak. Goldberg soundly squashed the vast majority of his opponents en route to a streak that was billed at 173-0.

If you ask the wrestling legend himself, a top star on the NXT brand could be the next Goldberg.

During an interview on "Shak Wrestling" with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports (h/t WrestlingInc.com), the two-time Universal Champion was asked which active WWE star could be the next Goldberg.

"Bron Breakker," Goldberg said.

Breakker is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner and the nephew of Scott (also a Hall of Famer). Breakker didn't need long to establish himself as a main event star on NXT, having won the NXT Championship already on two occasions. Last week, Breakker surpassed the 100-day mark as the title holder in his second reign.

Could we see Goldberg and Breakker one day lock horns in WWE? The former hasn't expressed any interest in retiring in the near future, and Goldberg recently revealed that he's still under contract with WWE. Goldberg faced both Steiner brotherrs on multiple occasions during their respective tenures in WCW, so it would be quite the storyline if he eventually faced Rick's son in the WWE ring.

Bron Breakker Will Be A Game-Changer On The Main WWE Roster

Being compared to the WWE Hall of Famer is a pretty special form of praise. Last year, Riddle compared NXT Champion Bron Breakker to Goldberg. Now, Breakker has already lost a handful of matches since debuting for WWE NXT, so he obviously won't start out on a historic winning streak like Goldberg did 25 years ago.

However, the 24-year-old Breakker has displayed the necessary skill set to become a perennial main event star in WWE. He has an elite in-ring set and is already over with the fans. He has future multi-time World Champion written all over him.
