Halo Infinite's ranking system is a relatively simple one despite no specific details shared from 343.

The Halo Infinite multiplayer is finally here, bringing plenty of content for fans to enjoy despite some hiccups as is usually the case when a big free-to-play experience drops.

While the game includes plenty of avenues to have a nice relaxed gaming session with Big Team Battle, custom matches, and more, those eager to test their skills in the most balanced and competitive way possible can jump straight into ranked, which is available right from the start.

343 Industries only briefly mentioned how the system works during their most recent dev update, leaving plenty of fans intrigued as to what they could expect from the competitive playlist. 

With that said, let's guide you through everything you need to know about how the Halo Infinite ranked system works.

Halo Infinite ranked mode - How to play

First things first, with Halo Infinite adopting cross-input and cross-platform play, you might be wondering if controller players can queue up with mouse and keyboard users. The answer is yes.

If you're playing with friends on a controller or mouse and keyboard only, you'll be able to duo, however, if your party has multiple inputs in use, there are no limitations in this regard.

What's interesting is that players can select to be a part of the Solo/Duo single input queues or select the cross-input/no limit queue instead.

Halo Infinite - Ranked loadouts and playlists

During launch this is what you can expect in terms of loadouts and map/game mode selection:

Loadouts

• Start with a BR75 (Battle Rifle).
• Combat Sensor disabled.
• Friendly fire on.
• Grenade hitmarkers disabled.
• Static item spawns. 

Map playlists

• Capture The Flag on Aquarius, Bazaar, Behemoth
• Oddball on Live Fire, Recharge, Streets
• Slayer on Aquarius, Bazaar, Live Fire, Recharge, Streets
• Strongholds on Live Fire, Recharge, Streets

Halo Infinite ranked mode - System

Similar to other modern shooters, Halo follows the classic ladder structure, with the lowest level being Bronze, and the highest aptly named Onyx.

Each of these ranks but Onyx comes with six different levels. So, in essence, this is what it looks like:

• Bronze I-VI
• Silver I-VI
• Gold I-VI
• Platinum I-VI
• Diamond I-VI
• Onyx

Points are given out based on performance and overall result. Players who are new to ranked need to complete a total of 10 matches before being placed. Then, they can start their grind through the ranks.

One thing worth noting is that your rank will be specific to the queue you want to play in. Meaning that you need to play 10 matches each for Solo/Duo on a controller, Solo/Duo on mouse and keyboard and 10 more in the open queue.
