EVs are a massive part of competitive battling in Pokemon: Sword & Shield. This guide will help players completely reset their Pokemon's EVs in the game. Pokemon: Sword & Shield is the newest entry to the Pokemon franchise. In this entry, players will explore the new Galar region, a region based on real-world London. The game also features a new area known as the wild area, a location where Pokemon will naturally spawn in their environments. Over 400 Pokemon can be found in this entry and each one can be used for competitive battling. This guide will help players reset their EVs in Pokemon: Sword & Shield.

EVs, or Effort Values, are hidden stats that each Pokemon contain to determine how their specific stats will upgrade. This includes things like HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Players can Hyper Train in the game and build these EVs to better their stats. This is not something casual players of Pokemon will be highly invested in, but this is almost mandatory for players who wish to play more competitively. Not every Pokemon is cut from the same cloth, as some can completely dominate the scene in the hands of the proper trainer. How To Reset EVs in Pokemon Sword & Shield

To reset EVs, players can find EV berries scattered around in the wild area. When the player shakes trees, berries will fall and they can use these to reduce EVs for certain Pokemon. Players can also be given these berries for participating in Max Raid battles. Here's what each berry can accomplish.

• Qualot Berry (-10 Defense EVs)

Alternatively, for owners of the Isle of Armor DLC, players can find Lady Clear. She will be waiting in the Workout Sea and will clear out a single Pokemon's EVs for 10 Armorite Ore. This is the fastest way to go about resetting a Pokemon's EVs.

The second half of the Pokemon: Sword & Shield expansion pass is scheduled to release later this Fall. The Crown Tundra will include 100 Pokemon from previous generations, a new story for players to enjoy, and a new wild area full of secrets to find. This includes new legendary Pokemon and Galarian versions of Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres. This marks the first time in series history where a mainline title has received paid DLC. Hopefully, this game will set a new standard for how new content will release in the Pokemon series.
