Keys Wasn't Inspired by Katniss
Emily Bell Alicia Keys is promising a lot of things for her next album, due out Nov. 27: It's an "evolution." It's "explosive." It's a whole "new" Alicia Keys. So what's the name of this mind-blowing record? Girl on Fire.
Holy baker's boy, is someone a Hunger Games fan?! Surely you'll remember that Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss—after donning some faux flames in the opening ceremony of the first book-turned-movie—nabs the nickname "Girl on Fire."
"You know, the funny thing is that it's actually not," Keys told Entertainment Weekly about whether the dystopian saga influenced her work. "It was such a shock when I heard about The Hunger Games. I wasn't aware of the book at that point. And I didn't realize that, I guess, that's what they call the one girl."
