Professional Background

Dr. Champion received her B.S. with distinction in Chemical Engineering at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS and her M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS. She completed her internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency also at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She went on to complete a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Associated Retina Consultants in Phoenix, AZ. She returned to the University of Kansas Department of Ophthalmology in 2017 as a Clinical Assistant Professor in our Retina Service.
