Matt Hardy Comments On Jeff Hardy's Latest DUI Arrest
Ava Richardson Jeff Hardy was arrested on Monday and charged on three counts. One of those counts was driving under the influence, marking the third time he has been arrested for a DUI in just four years. AEW has since issued a statement about the situation, confirming Jeff has been suspended indefinitely. Now Jeff's brother Matt Hardy has commented on the situation.
Matt Hardy's Thoughts
“Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy,” Matt tweeted on Tuesday. “Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time.” Matt was slated to compete in a ladder match with Jeff on Dynamite tonight. AEW is no longer advertising that match.

In fact, prior to revealing Jeff has been suspended, AEW reportedly asked WarnerMedia to remove the veteran wrestler from all of its advertising. AAA will also be scrambling to rebook a pretty big match that was supposed to feature The Hardy Boyz. Matt and Jeff were meant to be competing at Triplemania this weekend, but that match will presumably need to be changed.
More Details About Jeff's Arrest
Some of the finer details about what happened to Jeff on Monday, as well as what led to this latest DUI, are slowly being revealed. The report from Jeff's arrest confirmed the multiple-time Tag Team Champion was almost four times over the legal limit when arrested. Jeff has since been bailed out of jail, but the court date that was supposed to take place on Tuesday was cancelled.
There are a handful of moments from Jeff's recent past that will now be revisited and dissected. When he hopped the barrier prior to his WWE release, and his actions right after The Hardyz match with The Young Bucks at Double or Nothing. What really matters is what happens next. Hopefully, Jeff gets the help he needs, and more than anything, hopefully this is the last time this happens.
