The 26-year-old Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been one of the most prominently featured performers in All Elite Wrestling. Due to his overwhelming ability on the mic, MJF has used his promo abilities to establish himself as one of the top heels in this generation of professional wrestling. However, although MJF has been one of AEW's most utilized performers, it's worth mentioning the lack of credibility they've built for his character. With rumors circulating of his frustration with the company and possibly joining WWE, one could argue that MJF would better fit with a company like WWE rather than AEW.

Where MJF's Current Run With AEW Went Wrong
One of the original AEW members that have wrestled for the company from the start, it seemed that MJF would've become a massive star on the AEW roster. There aren't many wrestlers in this generation that showcase the promo ability that MJF does, as that is what makes him stand out on the AEW roster.
However, many fans feel that AEW has underutilized MJF for someone with the ability he possesses. During his three-year tenure with AEW, MJF has lost on many occasions that could've gotten him over as a credible heel on the roster. It isn't to say that AEW has booked MJF to look weak, but when it came to the most crucial matches, MJF could've gotten a lot further if he were to win those matches.
From the losses during his World Heavyweight Championship match against Jon Moxley at AEW All Out 2020 to his recent Dog-collar match with CM Punk at AEW Revolution 2022, one must wonder where a charismatic individual like MJF goes from there. It's also worth mentioning that despite being in the company for three years, MJF is nowhere near the World Title scene. And as he's currently in a feud with his former protégé, Wardlow, MJF risks another loss that could damage his potential star-power within the company.
Rumors Of MJF Leaving AEW For WWE
Rumors have circulated that MJF could be on his way to WWE, as there's speculation that he's been "unhappy" regarding his contract status with AEW. It looks as if there's more of a possibility that MJF could be arriving in WWE after spending all these years with their rival company. Some are contemplating whether MJF would be making the right move by joining a company like WWE due to their particular way of handling their creative process.

And rightfully so, even though in-ring action is essential for a wrestling show, characters and storylines are just as crucial as it gives more of a reason for fans to watch.
MJF has everything that WWE is looking for regarding a sports entertainment product. Along with his promo abilities, he has a unique look while also having the natural ability to act when put in non-wrestling segments. If WWE fits him in their crop of talent that they utilize weekly, then MJF could become the company's next breakout star as he meets their criteria of what makes a superstar.
MJF's in-ring work is another plus to his resume, as it doesn't get enough credit. His in-ring work is an example of MJF showcasing his dirty mannerism through his move set, considering this type of in-ring performance is what sports entertainment represents. MJF's in-ring style may be more suitable for WWE's sports-entertainment genre than the high-flying in-ring style of AEW.

It probably has a lot to do with MJF's in-ring style, as he isn't the type to go for a life-altering stunt that could end his career. That, alongside his age, MJF makes a case for himself to fit WWE's mold of talent that they can rely on for many years to come.
MJF Potentially Joining WWE Sends A Powerful Message
If MJF is serious about joining WWE after his current deal with AEW expires and not part of an act to stir the pot on the internet, it's not a guarantee that WWE will utilize it correctly. However, MJF potentially leaving AEW to join WWE sends a strong message to this current generation of professional wrestlers. While AEW provides an alternative for ex-WWE superstars, WWE can be that same haven for ex-AEW performers.
