Netflix New Releases: September 2020
Emma Powell Netflix has unveiled its latest slate of movies and TV shows dropping on the streaming service this September.
A brand new round of anticipated Netflix original films will hit the platform this month, including the Charlie Kaufman-directed psychological horror title I’m Thinking of Ending Things, the Robert Pattinson- and Tom Holland-led The Devil All The Time, and the lighter and more kid-friendly Sherlock Holmes-inspired Enola Holmes starring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter.
Other original films streaming this month include romantic comedy Love, Guaranteed; horror sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen; French coming-of-age dramedy Cuties; documentaries The Social Dilemma and A Love Song for Latasha; and DreamWorks’ interactive animated special The Boss Baby: Get That Baby!
Other movies arriving on Netflix in September include the Back to the Future trilogy, Grease, The Muppets, Pineapple Express, Anaconda, Barbershop, Zathura, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Magic Mike, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Adam Rodriguez.
Netflix original series hitting the streamer this month include Away, the Hilary Swank-led and Matt Reeves-executive-produced space drama; Young Wallander, the prequel series to the Kenneth Branagh BBC One show based on Henning Mankell’s novels; and the One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest prequel Ratched, starring Sarah Paulson.
Other small-screen original titles include the Tituss Burgess-hosted reality competition Sing On!, lifestyle series Get Organized with The Home Edit, the latest chapter of the Emmy-nominated culinary series Chef’s Table: BBQ, and Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices, the live-action collection of prominent Black celebrities and artists reading children’s books from Black authors.
The streaming service will also this month add all eight seasons of Girlfriends and all six seasons of Sister, Sister alongside season four of The Good Place and Greenleaf season five.
Netflix favorite Michelle Buteau, Last Comic Standing winner Felipe Esparza and British comedian Michael McIntyre all have stand-up specials dropping this month.
