A New Boss In WWE Brings A New Day
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that most backstage in WWE were happy with the official transition from Vince McMahon to Triple H as head of creative. WON journalist Dave Meltzer noted how big the change is, not only for the actual creative direction of WWE, but also in terms of Vince McMahon's role in the company going forward. After initially announcing that McMahon would be directly underneath him when it came to WWE prior to the merger, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel changed his tune and placed Triple H in charge after the merger.
Meltzer wrote: "One person close to the situation said that Emanuel has a vision for how he can use the worldwide notoriety of McMahon, and that vision doesn’t include him micro-managing the weekly television shows."
What's Next For Vince McMahon?
For the first time since he bought the company from his father in 1982, Vince McMahon has a boss to answer to in WWE. While wrestling fans won't see his singular vision on display anymore, his fingerprints will remain on the product for a very long, long time. It's hard to imagine that Triple H wouldn't turn to his father-in-law for his opinion and even a little guidance.
