Athletes are a great part of our lives there are people we look up to as an inspiration that we can achieve anything. For example Tom Brady, 6th round quarterback out of Michigan being drafted by the Patriots and being the best quarterback in the NFL. Derek Jeter was an all time great for the New York Yankees winning multiple championships and being one of the greatest baseball players of all time. And Michael Jordan, who worked hard, went to the Chicago Bulls and also won multiple championships. Athletes like those are the people we look up to.

There are also flaws every athlete has that people hate,  particularly when it's what an athlete does off the field such as Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez was in the steroid scandal in baseball and was in the news always for the wrong reasons. There is also Brady because of how his success got caught up in Deflategate and Spygate but didn't let that get to him and still performs at a high level today at age 40.

In this article I'm going to take a look at Tiger Woods who was one of the best golfers of all time. He had a cheating scandal and health issues that has since hurt his career. He has made a lot of enemies in his career. Here are the top 15 people that hate Tiger Woods.

15 15. BUTCH HARMON

From 1993 till about 2004 Butch Harmon coached Tiger Woods to get him on the map to be one of the best golfers. Woods began getting advice from Hank Haney, which, Harmon was displeased with. Woods was in denial about his game wild driving. Woods responded with "I don't know why he would say that when we've been close."

Harmon then began coaching Phil Mickelson. He recently had some comments on Woods this past February. "Are we ever going to see him play at the heights he did back in the 2000s? Probably not the main thing he has to do right now is get himself healthy." Harmom also told Sky Sports. " He's been off for almost a year and a half, and now he's come back but he still can't finish a tournament. To me that's not a good sign."

14 14. SERGIO GARCIA

For Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods these two golfers have a rivalry on and off the course. They bad mouthed each other before a European Awards Dinner. Garcia said he would have Woods over for dinner during the U.S. Open and serve him fried chicken. Woods thought the comments were hurtful and racist, a reaction many agreed with. Garica then apologized.

The rivalry goes back to 1999 when Tiger and Garica were neck to neck in a tournament. Garcia would lose by a single stroke and it would not stop there. Also in the 2002 U.S. Open Garcia whined to the media that had Woods been playing through the yea downpour, the powers that be would have suspended play immediately instead of continuing. It's normal for professional rivals to gain some resentment for each other, and that's clearly the case here.

13 13. TOM WATSON

After Woods returned to Golf following his sex scandals, Watson criticized Woods' on course profanity. He also had a problem with Woods when he withdrew himself from the Ryder Cup in 2014 due to injury. Watson also told the Daily Mail recently talking about Woods' DUI "It's sad Tiger got in the situation he was in, falling asleep whatever the cause was." He also said that he read an article that Woods' was going to get professional help, whatever that means.

He also said in the interview: "I'm sure he's very embarrassed about the whole situation as he should be. He put his life at risk and other's people's lives at risk in the condition he was in, in the car. He knows that and everyone else knows that. There's no excuse for it." Watson said.

12 12. JOSLYN JAMES

Joslyn James made headlines when she released text messages between her and Tiger Woods. When those text messages got released that was pretty much the beginning of the end for Tiger Woods' dominance as a professional golfer. James told the Daily News at the time "There were certain things about our relationship that were not conventional. There were a couple situations when he was a bit more aggressive than usual." This was just the start to the beginning of Woods' sexting with women.

In a final text dated October 4, 2009 Woods wrote: "Don't talk to me. You almost just ruined my whole life. If my agent and these guys would have seen you there..." Then Jamie Grubbs released hundreds of texts to her, revealing a 31-month old relationship with the golfer. To this day, Tiger has really never been the same most recently getting a DUI which he says was due to mixing up his prescription medications.

11 11. DAN JENKINS

Dan Jenkins and Tiger Woods have a rough history. Jenkins has criticized Woods's golf game in the past and most recently in 2015. At the time, Jenkins said Wodds beat a bunch of nobodies to win most of his majors. Dan Jenkins is a Hall Of Fame sportswriter who lashed out on Tiger Woods in Readers Digest in 2014.

Woods wasn't too happy with what Jenkins said which was an made up interview he had with Woods. The questions ranged from firing his agent to his relationship with Sergio Garcia. Woods replied on the Players Tribune website with "Jenkins has no idea how I think or feel about any of the things I think about which is why he had to make it up. All athletes know we will be under scrutiny from the media. But this concocted article was below my belt."

10 10. BRANDEL CHAMBLEE

Brandel Chamblee is an golf analyst for the Golf Channel who has always been a critic of Tiger Woods. Chamblee once called Tiger's driver a 'dead mackerel wrapped in newspaper'. Also in 2013 Chamblee wrote on Golf.com that he gave Tiger an F for 2013 even though he won five times because he was "a bit cavalier with the rules." Woods threatened legal action for the allegations, but no lawsuit was ever filed.

As recently as 2017 he was asked by Dan Patrick if Tiger Woods's career was over. Chamblee replied "it's the perfect storm to rob you of your game. A bad back a change of golf swing, problems with your short game - - big problems so your short game. Those are competitive things, and that's the trifecta of things to rob you of your career."

Chamblee has never missed an opportunity to criticize Tiger, yet hasn't seemed to heap much praise on him when it's deserved.

9 9. STEVIE WILLIAMS

Tiger and Stevie were together for 12 years. They won a lot of money and broke a lot of cameras too. Williams left Woods and went to Caddy for Adam Scott in 2011. He called his first win with Adam Scott his most satisfying win ever. Williams also hated it when Woods would call him Stevie.

As recently as 2016 Woods' old caddy said to BBC Radio "I guess when he looks back, he might question some of the activities he did, some of the gym workouts that he might have done that, you know, had all these injuries escalate."

He also said "I doubt he'll come back to the winners circle. He has the ability to win when he's not playing his best. But whether he comes back and wins major championships? That's going to be a very difficult task."

8 8. RORY SABBATINI

When Rory Sabbatini lost to Woods in the 2007 Wachovia Championship his comments were: "The funny thing is after watching Woods play on Sunday I think he's more beatable than ever." Woods didn't like those comments and didn't like it when Sabbatini withdrew himself from Tiger's Target World Challenge later that year.

Woods responded in 2007 saying "I'd like to try to get to the bottom of it when I'm done here and we'll see what happens."

That is what happens when you run your mouth and claiming to be the best when you're not. Tiger proved that he was the best on the course at the time and seems like Sabbatini was a bit jealous. It didn't take long for Tiger to shut him up on the course.

7 7. HANK HANEY

Haney was Tiger's instructor for six years. Tiger also won six majors during that time. He also had a lot of surgeries during that time period. In 2010 Woods moved on from Haney to Sean Foley. Haney would write a book called "The Big Miss" recounting his time with Woods.

Haney told Golf week in 2015 "He's on his bed rest and we don't know when he's going to come back. Now I think the real question is when will we ever see Tiger again? Will we ever see Tiger again? And what will his game be like."

In 2017 Bane told Sirius XM Radio “Another thing I don’t buy is I don’t buy that he, you know, is this is the end all be all for him as this coming back and beating Nicklaus’ record.”

6 6. FUZZY ZOELLER

Zoeller is also not a fan of Tiger Woods he made some comments in 1997 during the Masters Championship Dinner about ordering fried chicken. He said afterwards he paid his dues.

"Mine was a joke that went bad" Zoeller said at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2013. He also went on to say: "I don't know. They've been feuds before. It's just the way it is. That's sports. There's going to be feuds this week sometime. Someone will get in a spat out here. Some you"ll hear about, some you won't."

It took Woods more than a week to release a statement about the comment. The statement said he had "concluded that no personal animosity was intended." But that didn't mean Woods forgave Zoeller on his comments. The comments would haunt Zoeller for years to come.

5 5. MIKE "FLUFF" COWAN

Cowan started carrying Tiger's bag in 1996 but in 1999, Woods and Cowan parted ways. Woods said "Fluff and I have discussed this over the past few weeks and we both feel it is in our best interest to part ways. I appreciate the support which Fluff has provided and recognize the contributions Fluff has made to my success as a professional. But it is time to move on and I remain confident we will remain friends."

Woods' coach at the time, Butch Harmon, said there was friction between Cowan and Woods. "They have some issues to work out. But it's nothing more than what caddies and players go through all the time."

Woods would downplay the situation between him and Cowan saying "There's nothing wrong between us people are blowing this way out of proportion."

You have to start wondering why so many people associated so closely with Woods seem to have a falling out with him.

4 4. IAN POULTER

In the March 2008 issue of Golf World U.K., Poulter said "Don't get me wrong I really respect every professional golfer. But I know I haven't played to my full potential and when that happens it will just be me and Tiger." In Hank Haney's book, its' also revealed that Tiger sent an abusive text to Poulter. He also got mad at Poulter when he tried to get a ride on Woods' private jet as well.

Poulter also told Golf Magazine in 2008 "It would be a dream to see Tiger Woods and then me in the world rankings as you look down. What's wrong with that? Is it being rude? Is it being disrespectful to everybody else? I don't think so."

There definitely seems to be resentment there, which is normal, given how Woods was on top of the golfing world at the time, and everyone wanted his spot.

3 3. VIJAY SINGH

Vijay Singh and Tiger Woods have a rivalry on the golf course. In 2000, Singh's former caddie wrote on the back of his hat "Tiger who?" before their match in the Presidents Cup. Singh got to number two in the world saying at the time "It's a good feeling to go out there knowing that you've got a chance of winning the golf tournament every time you tee it up. That's the way I feel. I'm playing the best that I can play right now."

There was a point where Woods was told Singh could've ended Woods four year reign before the tour championship at the time Woods didn't really care saying. "Anyone would much rather have player of the year than the money title. He plays a lot more than I do. If it were important, I'd play 25 to 30 events every year. If it's wrapped up so be it."

2 2. PETER KOSTIS

Kostis did some analysis for CBS on Tiger's swing which Tiger took offense to in 2009. In 2010 after the Masters, Kostis interviewed Woods on his bad golfing which didn't go so well. He asked Tiger about his week in perspective and his reply was "it sucked, " because he didn't win. Kostis then asked how process must be difficult and that it would take time to find the balance between no reaction and over-reaction. Woods didn't like that question either and snapped back at Kostis.

Tiger's feeling was that he was hitting so badly he wasn't going to show much emotion on the course. Kostis' final question of the interview was 'will you play golf again?' his answer 'I don't know' which was quick and snappy toward Kostis. Kostis' response to that answer was 'that's fine' and his prerogative to answer the questions anyway he wants. He just asks the questions the people at home would ask.

1 1. NICK FALDO

Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods have a history of being rivals. They have a combined 88 championships together. Flado now is an analyst for NBC and the Golf Channel and still criticizes Woods if he will ever make a comeback. He said recently "His back is basically locked up. He's had three surgeries on it and he's just not as flexible as you need to be for golf so I think unfortunately he's not looking good to even make a comeback as a golfer."

Faldo also told the Dan Patrick Show that Woods had the biggest impact on golf, because of his presence in the media and the shift in golf coverage during his time. Faldo doesn't think Woods will make a comeback and still is critical of him to this day.
