Rachel Walters Gives Update On Husband Jon’s Visa
Emily Bell After years of waiting to live in the same country, United States citizen Rachel Walters gives an update on her U.K.-based husband Jon's U.S. visa.
Rachel Walters from 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days season 2 has a new update about her husband Jon Walters' visa process. Jon and Rachel tied the knot in the U.K. in May 2018 but haven't been able to live together since getting married. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple was not even able to see each other for two years. Recently, Rachel and her daughter, Lucy, traveled to the U.K. to spend two weeks with Jon. Because of their unique storyline, the two quickly became fan-favorites and have many franchise fans closely following their journey and supporting them along the way.
The New Mexico woman and Jon met via the karaoke app Smule. At the time, Rachel was a single mother to her daughter, Ella. Jon and Rachel quickly formed a strong relationship, and when Rachel realized she was pregnant with her second daughter, Lucy, Jon swore to treat her as his own. He even FaceTimed Rachel while she gave birth to Lucy. Although the couple has been married since 2018, Jon has a criminal record due to the many physical fights he got in when he was younger. Therefore, it's been difficult for him to get a visa to move to the United States. Because Rachel and her ex have joint custody of her oldest daughter, Ella, she hasn't been able to join John in the U.K.
Recently, Rachel took to her Instagram Stories to let her followers know that she received an update from the lawyer on Jon's visa. She shared that she and Jon should have an answer in "3-4 more months" on whether or not Jon will be able to get his visa. The reality star explained that the waiting time for the visa has gotten a little bit longer lately, which is why they need to keep waiting a few more months to find out if he is able to get a visa or not. Rachel also thanked her followers for being "so loving and patient."
Rachel and Jon have only been in one season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days. They also appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Self Quarantined to tell viewers about how hard the visa process has been. When they got married in 2018, they were told that it would take 3.5 years for Jon to get his visa. This process was elongated when Rachel was let go from her job right before the COVID-19 pandemic in January 2020. When this happened, they realized that Rachel would likely need help sponsoring Jon's visa. The pandemic made their wait and the visa process even more complicated.
There are no other couples in the franchise that have a story quite like Jon and Rachel's. This is likely one of the reasons they have been so popular among fans. Between the pandemic, Jon's criminal record and Rachel losing her job, things have not been easy for this couple. However, this is the first time that the couple has had any sort of idea about when they will hear anything regarding Jon's visa. Hopefully, Jon, Rachel and the 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days fans rooting for them will get an answer soon.
