Randy Savage had a tremendous 1992, constantly delivering inside the squared circle. His most underrated match that year happened at UK Rampage, where Macho Man defended his newly-won WWE Championship against a young Shawn Michaels.

Still managed by Sensational Sherri, The Heartbreak Kid proved he could hang with the best and that he could be a future top star. Their entertaining bout excited the British fans in attendance, and Savage retained the gold in the end.

From the moment he first debuted in the summer of 1985, Macho Man established himself as one of the most entertaining WWE wrestlers. Savage made it to the finals of the Wrestling Classic tournament in November 1985, and went after Tito Santana's IC Title shortly afterwards.

Savage was unsuccessful a bunch of times, mostly via count-out or disqualification. However, Savage finally captured the strap at the Boston Garden by using a foreign object. Savage would go on to have one of the best Intercontinental Championship reigns in WWE history.

Randy Savage won his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania 4, beating Ted DiBiase in the finals of a long tournament for the vacant gold. Savage continued feuding with The Million Dollar Man throughout 1988, defending the belt against DiBiase several times.

The best match between the two men happened inside a steel cage in Madison Square Garden. Macho Man was able to retain his WWE Championship despite Virgil's constant interference. Their match was a lot better than their clash in the main event of WrestleMania.

After Ric Flair lost the WWE Championship to Randy Savage at WrestleMania 8, and spent the rest of 1992 chasing Macho Man. Flair played a major role in the title match between Savage and Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam, hurting Savage's leg before he got his own title shot.

That title shot took place a few weeks later on Prime Time Wrestling. Flair went after Savage's bad leg like a shark smelling blood, and captured the WWE Championship after newcomer Razor Ramon interfered. Savage passed out while in the Figure Four, and got pinned.

In late 1987, Savage was a newly-turned face trying to reclaim the Intercontinental Championship, now held by The Honky Tonk Man. Meanwhile, a young Bret Hart was still a heel member of the Hart Foundation managed by Jimmy Hart, who also managed Honky Tonk Man.

Savage's second WWE Championship reign was fantastic. The Macho Man mostly feuded with Ric Flair as champion, but he defended the gold against fellow babyface The Ultimate Warrior at SummerSlam in London, England.

Flair made his presence felt alongside his associate, Mr. Perfect. They claimed to be associated with one of the participants, but it turned out to be false. Savage retained despite losing via count-out, after The Nature Boy attacked Savage's leg with a steel chair.

WrestleMania 5 drew a big buyrate in 1989. That was because Savage's brilliant feud with Hulk Hogan, which dated all the way back to the previous year's WrestleMania. The former Mega Powers partners famously exploded in early 1989, resulting in one of the biggest main events in 'Mania history.

While it wasn't even close to being Savage's best match from an in-ring standpoint, the two legends told a brilliant story throughout the bout. Savage was relentless as he tried to take The Hulkster down, only to eventually lose the WWE Championship to Hogan.

Randy Savage came back from retirement in late 1991, feuding with Jake Roberts. That feud was intense, but Savage's next feud was incredibly personal. After Ric Flair became WWE Champion at Royal Rumble 1992, Naitch claimed he had been with Miss Elizabeth in the past.

Needless to say, this pushed Savage past his breaking point. This resulted in an intense title matchup at WrestleMania 8. At times, Flair seemed more interested in playing mind games with Savage and Liz, resulting in Macho Man capturing his second WWE Championship.

As mentioned in the previous entry, Savage was retired in 1991. That happened as a result of Savage losing a Retirement Match to The Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania 7, whom Savage had been feuding with since September 1990. After costing him the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, Savage wanted to end Warrior's career.

Randy Savage was one of the greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time. Ever since his title win over Tito Santana, Macho Man impressed WWE fans with his unmatched charisma and in-ring skills. In late 1986, Savage began a historic feud with Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat over his title.

The two men finally clashed at WrestleMania 3, and delivered arguably the greatest Intercontinental Title match in history. Steamboat came out on top and became the new champion, but this match catapulted Savage to the top of the mountain.
