Seth Rollins Potentially Being Moved Back To SmackDown Brand
Ava Richardson Heading into this year's Royal Rumble, WWE is promoting that a Raw Superstar will take on a SmackDown Superstar for the Universal Championship. Seth Rollins is now the No. 1 contender for Roman Reigns' title, even though Rollins is property of the red brand and Reigns the Head of the Table on the blue brand.
It's created a bit of a stir among the fan base, many of whom are asking why Rollins would get a shot at a SmackDown Championship if he's not part of the roster. Perhaps the answer will be revealed that he is, once again, a SmackDown Superstar.
It hasn't been confirmed and WWE has made no announcement that Rollins is moving SmackDown permanently, but WWE on FOX did promote Rollins was headed back to SmackDown this Friday in a recent social media post and the tag seems to hint that this might be a semi-permanent move.
While both Reigns and Rollins could move back and forth, it makes more sense to have both talents on one brand and it appears maybe Rollins is the one who is moving. FOX's tag writes, "Seth Is Back!" and adds, "He couldn't stay away! @WWERollins is BACK on #SmackDown as he prepares to collide with @WWERomanReigns at the Royal Rumble."

Teasing His SmackDown Return Makes Sense
If Rollins is back on SmackDown, it immediately gives the WWE Superstar better odds of winning versus Reigns at the Rumble. While most fans believe the outcome is inevitable because WWE is teasing a Brock Lesnar versus Reigns Title-vs-Title match at WrestleMania, it really seemed clear Rollins had no hope of winning if he was going to have to inevitably head back to Raw right after the Royal Rumble was over.
Why would fans believe a Raw star would win the SmackDown title, thus having the company's two major championships on one brand. If Rollins is technically now a part of SmackDown, there's at least a shot he could walk away the winner.
