Skyrim: How to Get the Transmute Spell
Marcus Reynolds The Transmute spell is a fantastic source of early gold income in Skyrim. Furthermore, it is one of the most accessible rare spells to obtain.
Transmute Mineral Ore, also commonly known as Transmute, is an Adept Alteration spell in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that grants players the magical ability to turn simple mineral ore into precious metal. Transmute is one of the most beneficial spells in the game because it can be a lucrative source of income early on. Furthermore, the spell's location is very accessible, and it's relatively easy to cast with a base Magicka cost of 88. Similar one-of-a-kind spells in Skyrim are often much more challenging to use due to their high Magicka level requirement.
The way Transmute works is it first turns any Iron Ore in the player's inventory into Silver Ore. Once all the Iron Ore has been converted, casting the spell again will now turn any Silver Ore into Gold Ore. This process multiplies the initial value of Iron Ore by 25, as Iron Ore is sold for 2 gold, and Gold Ore sells for 50. Although Transmute cannot be dual-cast, Elder Scrolls fans can dual-wield the spell. As a result, players can use Transmute consecutively within a short period and use the waiting mechanic to replenish their Skyrim Magicka instantly.
To get the Transmute spell in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, head to Halted Stream Camp, a bandit encampment north of Whiterun and east of Silent Moons Camp. The main section of the camp is located underground, but the entrance to the den is well-guarded. Skyrim players who prefer a stealthy assault can go up the northern rocky ridge overlooking the fort towards the south. From this spot, the Dragonborn can use a bow to snipe enemies without being hindered by the surrounding walls. Those entering Halted Stream Camp at a low level shouldn't have much issue dealing with ordinary bandits, but Skyrim fans playing on a tough difficulty should bring some Health potions along just in case. After clearing out the exterior, venture forth into the underground portion.
Where to Find the Transmute Spell in Skyrim
Inside, a Skyrim bandit will be guarding a locked door at the end of a passageway. The door can either be unlocked via Lockpicking or looting the key from the hostile guard. Next is the bandit chief's lair, a somewhat open arena with another bandit accompanying their leader. The chief is a formidable foe, so players who wish to avoid direct attacks can kite and use the environment as obstacles to hinder the bandit leader's pathway. Additionally, hanging fire pots can be shot down with arrows or spells that will ignite the large oil spill on the floor below.
After defeating all the Skyrim bandits in the camp, walk over to the table sitting to the right of the boss chest and take the Transmute Mineral Ore spell tome. In addition to making easy money, the Dragonborn can utilize Transmute for plenty of other practical uses, such as leveling, Smithing, Speech, and even Enchanting.
