Superstars React To The Ultimate Deletion Match
Mia Russell The Ultimate Deletion closed out this week's Raw and the wrestling world as a whole seems to be pretty entertained by what they saw.
When The Hardy Boyz first returned to WWE almost a year ago we questioned whether Matt would be Broken. When it became clear that he wasn't we then wondered whether he ever would be in WWE. Then he became Woken and we wondered how well WWE would handle the gimmick and to begin with, it was not very well. Then on Monday night we got The Ultimate Deletion.
The rivalry between Hardy and Bray Wyatt has been floundering to say the least and it needed a big twist. That came on Raw this week as The Ultimate Deletion was the closest thing we have seen to the original Broken Universe to date. The original cast of characters returned, the match took place on The Hardy Compound, and it was just weird and wacky enough for fans and fellow wrestlers alike to be the perfect balance of confused and entertained.

Various performers from the business took to social media following the unique match to give their thoughts. Mick Foley wrote on Twitter that he had no idea what he just watched but he liked it. Foley's daughter Noelle was also a fan of the madness suggesting that it should be shown in theaters worldwide.
SmackDown Live Superstar Natalya had clearly also tuned in to Raw as she tweeted 'this is wild' shortly before Wyatt was shoved in to the Lake of Reincarnation. The reactions weren't reserved to just WWE Superstars though. Young Buck Nick Jackson tweeted during the match that he and his brother had originally planned to have a Final Deletion match with The Hardys. He also added that he's glad WWE are letting Matt and Jeff demonstrate how creative they can be.
It's probably fair to say at this point that The Ultimate Deletion was an unmitigated success. Now we just have to hope that the WWE creative team build on that success. Wyatt can't merely reappear next week completely unchanged and they can't cut to the Hardy Compound for a match every single week or segments like Monday's main event will become less special. Raw was a promising step for The Woken One, now we just have to sit and wait to see what's next.
