The Witcher 3 stuck on loading screen following intro cutscene for some players

A few players are reporting the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt getting stuck on the loading screen after the intro cutscene plays.
Reports on Reddit, GameFAQs, and even Twitter are revealing that a number of players are stuck on the loading screen following the intro cutscene of The Wither 3: Wild Hunt.
The intro cutscene cannot be skipped the first time around, which makes this issue all the more infuriating. The issue appears to be affecting both digital and physical copies of the game on PlayStation 4.
Some have had luck with completely switching off their systems, unplugging the power cord and restarting. For others, uninstalling the game then reinstalling it did the trick.
