Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re rounding up all the rumors surrounding the highly anticipated multiverse superhero flick, “Deadpool 3.” While none of these are set in stone, possible spoilers remain.

#10: John Cena’s MCU debut

Could DC’s Peacemaker really be in Marvel’s third “Deadpool” film? That’s the rumor. Of course, it wouldn’t be the character Peacemaker, but rather the hulking performer who portrays the anti-hero, John Cena. This theory was sparked by an Instagram post made by Cena himself, in which it shows a behind-the-scenes image from the “Deadpool 3” set with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Was there any kind of caption or confirmation to go along with the post? Nope. This could all very well be another “trolling of the fans” orchestrated by star Ryan Reynolds. Plus, if Cena was to cameo in the film, would we even be able to see him? SB “You can’t see me.”

#9: Ben Affleck’s Daredevil & Jennifer Garner’s Elektra

Before he donned Batman’s cape and cowl, Ben Affleck portrayed Marvel’s Daredevil. Affleck’s 2003 superhero film teamed him with his soon to be ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, as Elektra. The rumor is that the actors are set to reprise their respective roles in “Deadpool 3.” Of the two, Jennifer Garner’s involvement is most likely, as it was reported in The Hollywood Reporter, a reputable trade magazine. Meanwhile, Affleck’s participation is less probable, as the actor’s supposed “spotting” on the set was explained as him visiting his kids - who in turn were visiting their mom, Garner. It remains to be seen if both, one, or none will suit up again.

#8: The Loki Connection

Seeing as how “Deadpool 3” will be another multiverse tale, it’s quite plausible that the film will feature the character partially responsible for the multiverse being unleashed in the MCU - Loki. The second season of Disney+’s “Loki” concluded with the God of Mischief becoming the dedicated protector of the entire multiverse. So, with Deadpool and Wolverine traveling across timelines, it would surely put the duo directly on his radar, right? Owen Wilson is also said to show up in the film as his “Loki” character Mobius. Set photos were even leaked showing TVA (Time Variance Alliance) Minute Men. This all but confirms that “Deadpool 3” will be tied to Loki and his multiverse gang in one way or another.

#7: Blade Reunion

Hey, remember when Ryan Reynolds appeared alongside Marvel’s Vampire Hunter in 2004’s “Blade Trinity”? Don’t worry - not many do. Well, if the rumors are true, they’ll be together again in “Deadpool 3.” Reynolds reportedly had tension with star Wesley Snipes during filming of “Blade Trinity,” but it’s been said that those issues are now behind them. Although, it may not be Snipe’s version of Blade making an appearance. That’s because there is chatter that newly cast Blade actor, Mahershala Ali, will make his long awaited first appearance in the film. Ali’s “Blade” reboot has been plagued with production issues and delays, so his arrival would be a big deal!

#6: Scarlet Witch Resurrected

We can thank a viral Reddit post for this rumor. When u/Spiderbyte posted a series of so-called “Deadpool 3” plot leaks, he got fans in a frenzy over the supposed return of the Scarlet Witch. The post indicated that Scarlet Witch’s spirit would rise from the dead and end up in an alternate Earth counterpart’s body. Then, she would alter the world to one where mutants make up most of the population. Add an evil-intentioned Magneto to the mix, and Deadpool would be forced to assemble a team to stop him. Sounds exciting. Just one problem - u/Spiderbyte says he made it up. Regardless, many continue to believe the rumor, seemingly under a spell of some kind…

#5: X-23 Back for More

It’s also heavily rumored that Dafne Keen, the young actress who appeared alongside Hugh Jackman in 2017’s “Logan”, will reprise her role as Laura Kinney (X-23) in “Deadpool 3.” The word in Hollywood is that Marvel Studios was negotiating with Keen to appear in the film in early 2023, but then the actors' strike started - and all talks stopped. Now that the labor dispute is over, the latest buzz is that Keen and her people have closed the deal. As for what Keen's X-23 could possibly be up to in the film remains to be seen, but it would mark the first time the feisty character has been seen on screen in over 7 years.

#4: Multiple Wolverines

In the multiverse there can exist a multitude of different versions of a person. And in this rumor, it’s said that we’ll get plenty of alternate Wolverines in “Deadpool 3.” Supposedly, the film would see Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson traveling through time and space to find the perfect Logan. The Wolverines he comes across are said to be different in small and big ways. Actors Karl Urban, Taron Egerton, and Daniel Radcliffe are all rumored to be playing versions of the clawed hero in the movie. The three actors have been heavily talked about as replacements for Jackman’s Wolverine in the MCU, so this would certainly make for a big serving of fan service.

#3: Taylor Swift is Dazzler

She’s the biggest pop star in the Universe. She’s also said to make her superhero debut in “Deadpool 3.” Yep, Taylor Swift is rumored to appear as the fan-favorite Dazzler. Dazzler is a mutant and part of the X-Men franchise. The character is also often portrayed as a professional singer in the comics. Seems like a perfect match to us. Making this rumor extra plausible is Swift’s public friendship with star Ryan Reynolds and his wife Blake Lively. Taylor is also said to be friendly with “Deadpool 3” director, Shawn Levy. Of all the speculated cameos, this one surely makes the most sense. And we say let Taylor’s “Mutant Era” begin.

#2: A Mighty Movie Trolling

The “Deadpool” movies are known to take shots at just about anyone and everyone. The fourth wall breaking humor is a staple of the character and the franchise, and we don’t expect it to be any different in this third installment. The rumor is, however, that “Deadpool 3” will deliver its biggest trolling yet – and its prey will be “Avengers: End Game.” Yep, talk is that this Deadpool outing is expected to feature several parodies of one of the most iconic movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As you’ll recall, “End Game” wrapped up years of storylines and made nearly $3 Billion in the process. We can totally picture a “Deadpool” portal scene now!

#1: The X-Men Cometh

With Deadpool himself being part of the X-Men universe, it’s likely we’ll see many familiar faces from the Uncanny superhero team. Word is that characters Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio are set to return. But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg, as James Marsden, Famke Janssen and Halle Berry are all rumored to suit up again as Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm. Could there be more from the Fox-era X-films? If the rumors are true, yes. Even “X-2” baddie William Stryker, played by “Succession” star Brian Cox, has been speculated to return. There is also word of Channing Tatum appearing as Gambit – a character he had long been attached to portray. When it comes to “Deadpool 3” rumors, you can say X marks the spot!
