Sphynx
Dr. Evil's feline of choice! Originating in Canada in the 1960s, the mysterious Sphynx is known for its hairlessness. Sphynxes are also known for their extroverted behaviour - some even say they're the dogs of the cat world.

Cornish Rex
Instead of having a regular coat, the Cornish Rex has only an undercoat. The result of a genetic mutation among a litter of domestic cats in the 1950s, the Cornish Rex has down-like fur, similar to feathers on a bird or the undercoat on a thick-coated dog.

Exotic Shorthair
Developed as a short-haired version of the Persian cat, Exotic Shorthairs are known for their big, round face and eyes; their cute, small ears; and their short-haired coat. Gentle and calm in nature - but generally more playful than their longer-haired ancestors - Exotic Shorthairs are affectionate, loyal pets. Fun fact: Did you know Garfield is an Exotic Shorthair?

LaPerm
The fact that this cat breed emerged in the '80s should answer any questions you have around the origin of the name. With curly coats that resemble a shaggy perm, LaPerms are known for not only for their curly manes but also their affectionate nature and outgoing personalities.

Highlander
Highlanders have a number of notable physical traits - namely, their curled-over ears and their polydactyl paws (with six or more toes!). Highlanders are confident cats who love interacting with humans. They can also grow to be very big.
