Jon Cryer’s Alan may be getting a second chance at love on Two and a Half Men.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Courtney Thorne-Smith has booked a recurring role on the eagerly anticipated ninth season of CBS’ Two and a Half Men.
As first reported by EW, Thorne-Smith will reprise her role as Lyndsey McElroy, a former flame of Cryer’s Alan.

Thorne-Smith, whose credits include Ally McBeal and According to Jim, first appeared late in Season 7 and returned in Season 8 as Lyndsey, the mother of Jake’s (Angus T. Jones) best friend Eldridge and Alan’s girlfriend.

Thorne-Smith’s casting comes a day after Judy Greer landed a recurring gig playing Bridget, the soon-to-be ex-wife of Ashton Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt.
The upcoming ninth season of Chuck Lorre’s Two and a Half Men will be its first without Charlie Sheen and see Kutcher come in as a broken-hearted Internet billionaire who turns to Alan for help with the ladies.
