Why Brock Lesnar Went Off Script At WWE Elimination Chamber [Report]
Jessica Cortez As previously noted, Brock Lesnar went off script in the six-man Elimination Chamber match at last week's pay-per-view.
Rather than wait for it to open, Lesnar simply smashed the pod to quickly enter the match. The 2022 men's Royal Rumble winner went on to claim the WWE Championship, setting up a winner-take-all match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns for day two of WrestleMania 38.
The defending champion, Bobby Lashley, was given a storyline concussion during the match and was forced to exit. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer explained that Lesnar went off script in the Elimination Chamber match because he was simply unaware of the plan's for Lashley's pod.
According to Meltzer, Lesnar knew that The Almighty would be "taken out" of the match. However, Lesnar "didn’t know they were going to signal for Lashley’s pod to open", and the Beast Incarnate simply assumed "he was next." On top of that, Meltzer added that Lesnar knew WWE was "running low on time", so he opted to break through the pod and quickly enter the match.
Meltzer also explained that the other wrestlers "still had spots to do" in the match, but once Lesnar came in, they probably figured out that things had to be rushed since they were short on time.

Lesnar outlasted Austin Theory, AJ Styles, Riddle and Seth Rollins to win the match. Lashley's storyline concussion was done as a way to
write him off television for the time being, as the two-time WWE Champion is dealing with a legitimate shoulder injury.
On Friday, WWE announced that the Reigns-Lesnar match will take place in day two of WrestleMania 38. This will mark the third WrestleMania event between the two men, who also headlined WrestleMania 31 and WrestleMania 34.
Lesnar Is Favored To Beat Reigns
It's been more than 26 months since Reigns last lost a match cleanly. For what it's worth, Lesnar is listed as a slight betting favorite to end Reigns' win streak and record-setting title reign at WrestleMania.
