WWE Announces Location & Date For 2023 Royal Rumble Event
Jessica Cortez WWE has announced the date and location for next year's Royal Rumble 2023 pay-per-view.
On Wednesday, the company announced that the Royal Rumble will take place inside the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 28 of next year. The venue served as the home for the NBA's San Antonio Spurs from 1993 to 2002 and the San Antonio Commanders of the short-lived Alliance of American Football league in 2019. The Alamodome will also be used for home games of San Antonio's future XFL team.
This will mark the fourth ever Royal Rumble show to take place in San Antonio. The city also hosted the 1997, 2007 and 2017 events. The '07 event was held inside AT&T Center, and the other two took place inside the Alamodome. The city of Houston hosted the 1989 and 2020 Royal Rumble events.

Royal Rumble 2023 will take place one day before the NFL's Conference Championship Game weekend. The NFC and AFC title games will run on Jan. 29, so WWE won't have to worry about competition with the NFL that day. Royal Rumble has traditionally taken place the week before the NFL's Super Bowl game.
For what it's worth, BetOnline lists Cody Rhodes (he's recovering from surgery on a torn pectoral) as the favorite to win the 2023 men's Royal Rumble match (-115), followed by The Rock (+550). Becky Lynch (the 2019 winner) is the favorite at +250 to win the women's Royal Rumble. Bayley holds the second-highest odds at +450, followed by 2020 winner Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley.
The Confirmed 2023 WWE Pay-Per-View Dates & Locations
Royal Rumble is the third WWE PPV of 2023 with a confirmed date and location. The second edition of "Day 1" will run inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on New Year's Day. WrestleMania 39 will take place on the Apr. 1-2 weekend inside SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
