WWE NXT Vignette Teases Former AEW Star
Matthew Harrington While Jade Cargill is making all the headlines with her WWE signing, there's another former AEW wrestler who might be debuting with the company soon. A mysterious vignette played during last night's NXT that teased a new wrestler, dropping hints that the person in question is none other than Brian Pillman Jr.
NXT's Loose Cannon
On the go-home episode leading up to NXT's No Mercy premium live event, WWE aired a short vignette of an unseen figure watching an old-school television set and changing the channels. Among the footage shown was a football game featuring the Cincinnati Bengals, as well as an episode of WCW Saturday Night. These were very clear references to Brian Pillman Jr., whose father, the legendary Brian Pillman, played for the Bengals, and also competed in WCW.

Pillman Jr. reportedly signed with WWE right after his contract expired with AEW, though WWE never officially confirmed it. While no date was revealed, the WWE Universe can expect the second generation wrestler to debut on NXT in the not-too-distant future, with No Mercy being a distinct possibility.
While he has plenty of raw talent and the pedigree, Pillman Jr. didn't reach the heights he wanted to in AEW. He was mostly involved with the Varsity Blondes tag team, and had one notable singles match with MJF, who berated Pillman and his family.
A Better Chance To Succeed In NXT
Fans have been waiting for Brian Pillman Jr. to debut in NXT ever since he showed up at the Performance Center following his AEW departure. While he has a good look and flashed potential both on the mic and in the ring, he wasn't able to put it all together in Tony Khan's promotion.

NXT might be an ideal fit for the second generation star, where he can hone his craft while working on his character and mic work at the Performance Center. If WWE is patient with him, he can really grow into his own and become a wrestling star like his father.
