WWE Superstars React To AEW's Jay Briscoe Tributes On Dynamite
Andrew Patterson More than a week removed, the wrestling world continues to struggle to come to terms with the passing of Jay Briscoe. Killed in a car accident at the age of just 38, tributes for the ROH Tag Team Champion continue to pour in. Some of those tributes aired on Dynamite last night in the form of a video package honoring the late wrestlers, and Jay's brother Mark Briscoe competing in the main event.
Getting Mark Briscoe On Dynamite
Mark wrestled and beat Jay Lethal to close Dynamite on Wednesday night, marking his first appearance in an AEW ring. It was previously believed Warner Bros. Discovery blocked Tony Khan's attempts to include The Briscoes on AEW TV due to comments Jay made, which he has since apologized and made reparations for multiple times, years ago.

There had even been reports that Mark would not be allowed to appear on AEW, but apparently Khan pushed for it and the subsequent match against Lethal to happen. After using his brother's finisher to win the match, Mark looked down a camera at ringside and said “I love you, Jamin.” A moment that would have broken the hearts of many watching at home, including quite a few WWE Superstars.
WWE Superstars React
Sami Zayn retweeted the video tribute that aired on Dynamite once it had also been shared on social media, admitting the package brought him to tears. Bayley thanked The Briscoes for inspiring her, and Roderick Strong also shared the video package with the message “I love you Jay”. Mia Yim added to the tweets from WWE Superstars reacting to the tributes, writing #DemBoys after the video aired.
An emotional night for so many people who crossed paths with Jay over the course of what was a very long career despite his still-young age. Updates on Jay's daughters who were both with him at the time of the accident also continue to filter in. Both sustained serious injuries, but it was revealed over the weekend that Jay's oldest daughter is starting to get feeling and movement back in her legs.
