Swinging with the mood, Saloon Star has all the answers when guests need an urgent pick-me-up after hours of sipping champagne. From reggae to jazz to Scottish and Irish jigs, their repertoire is as versatile as they come. "Saloon Star, was simply electrifying," says Fitzherbert, whose wedding party they entertained. "We gave them a list of songs (which they totally ignored apart from the first dance) and no one could leave the dancefloor once they'd started. They jumped from jazz to electro to hip-hop and even threw in some country dancing. I couldn't recommend them more."

The Gypsy Queens

This group of male performers from France and Scotland has a fanbase glittering with stars including Madonna, Elton John, Naomi Campbell and the Beckhams. Staying true to their roots as street buskers, the all-male group is a live DJ band, with the spirit of street entertainers. Having also performed at Glastonbury and Proms in the Park, they are full of energy and, in their own words, "will do anything to make a party go with a swing".

The London Essentials

This London-based, internationally renowned acoustic band is a favourite of the ultra-riche. The London Essentials have serenaded George Clooney on his boat at Lake Como (they told us he was "unbelievably charming"), performed for Richard Branson on Necker Island and played for KP Singh in Udaipur. The tuxedo-clad quintet play a euphoric mix of old-school tunes, from Al Green to the Spice Girls, completely acoustically. Energetic beyond belief, they'll serenade you from the church to the venue or play amongst the tables between courses.

Atlantic Soul Orchestra

"The Soul Orchestra are just incredible," says the luxury-wedding planner Sophie Hale from Quintessentially Weddings. With set lists bespoke to each event, they provide the ultimate entertainment for those who love funk and soul. The seven-piece band performs classics from Ray Charles to Wilson Picket with jaw-dropping vocals, as if they stepped straight out of New Orleans in the late 1950s to join your party.

The White Keys

This highly acclaimed mixed group is ideal for disco divas seeking high-octane entertainment with plenty of glitter. The White Keys come courtesy of the Soul Education Supergroup, a collection of musicians working in the West End and the music industry. Members of the group have worked on The Lion King, as well as with Rita Ora, Paloma Faith and Jessie J. They are a six-, eight-, 10- or 12-piece party band with a repertoire extending beyond disco to jazz, funk, pop and soul, and performers ranging from string quartets, to pianists and lounge singers, to jazz ensembles. This band is versatile and well-versed in putting on a really memorable show.

The Brasstards

Ten London musicians make up this extravagant drum and brass party. Having performed at Glastonbury, Latitude and Secret Garden Party as well as private events, these guys know how to work up an audience. Putting jazzy spins on chart toppers like 'Uptown Funk' and 'Shake it Off', your guests won't leave the floor. Time Out said, "If you've never heard Take That's 'Never Forget' blasted through a trombone, frankly, you haven't lived."
